Backyard fight

The kids are new to the MMA world and I found this video online...are they taking it too far by actually fighting without a medical unit and without proper equipment?

Definitely unsafe...

These participants could get seriously hurt, and friends and onlookers probably wouldn't know when to step in.

I won't say I ever participated in similar activities, but I was aware of "fun" like this when I was in H.S. 10+ years ago.

I'd give them bats and large wooden poles to make sure they were safer while fighting.

These kids suck.

I mean, I understand the desire to fight, but you don't start a f*cking mud wrestling club because you watched a season of TUF.

Just to prove my point, I'm going to go through all of the technical errors that would get these guys finished against someone who knows what they're doing.

I thought about walking through a play by play of all of the things these guys are doing wrong, but after the first minute I got bored.

If you want to fight, go to a gym, train and learn the techniques. I'd say these guys have potential, but the truth of the matter is, if they want to fight in mud pits, they're not ever going to do the work in the gym that it takes to step in a cage. (I call it Kimbo Slice syndrome, and you all know what I'm talking about)

The most depressing point, for me, was their complete mutilation of the submission game. They attack a guillotine without thinking about where their legs are. They attack an RNC without locking in the hooks. It was bad, it's that simple.

Harsh. They were okay, they were probably about my level on the ground xD

Striking was pretty atrocious, but they move so all is not lost :P

that was hard to watch. at least they wear gloves and aren't fighting on the pavement. I would have done this growing up for sure if me and my little friends would have thought about it, but we always played helmets and gloves after road hockey.
