What kind of classes should i take?

I'm new to this forum im a 2k9er. And i wanted to get into mma with the striking and submissions. But, i was wondering if i should take mma classes or individual classes like bjj, muahy tahi, and etc. I asked before on yahoo answers and here are some of the answers i got.

You'll get a mixed set of answers here as well. I prefer jumping straight to a MMA gym and some of the contributors such as Iron_Man would recommend that you join up with a solid BJJ school. You can probably use the search feature to find our discussions on the subject.

Best of luck in your training.

I would agree with Fieos. Unless you just want to be a martial artist not a fighter. You will get MMA based no gi training. Good for cage matches. Depends on what you want to do

The instructor doesn't have a lot of credentials but the website markets his gym well. I would definitely go for the two free classes and see if you feel it is a fit. If that is your best option for MMA training I would go for it. I like that they include wall work but I noticed on their Juijitsu portion of their website some of their technique looked a little suspicious. Nothing serious though from what I saw.

My advice is take those free classes from a lot of different places and find what suits you. but remember to make sure it is convenient. If you go to a really good gym far away you might be tired and sore and not motivated to go. But if you go to a decent gym closer you will be more motivated to go. When you go in talk to the instructors and students about what you want to get out of it. Just find what works for you.
