Dan Severn says he would step in & fight Fedor @ Affliction

Dan Severn willing to step in for Josh Barnett:

by James Royale

With Josh Barnett (24 – 5 – 0) sidelined in his scheduled bout against Fedor Emelianenko due to failing a pre-fight drug test carried out by the CSAC the main event is seemingly in jeopardy. Affliction is actively searching for a suitable replacement to fill the slot in time for the Affliction Trilogy card set to take place on August 1st. Amongst the rumoured names supposedly in talks with Affliction to fill the vacancy – it is likely Vitor Belfort will be moving up to face Fedor, however UFC veteran Dan 'The Beast' Severn voiced his interest in stepping in for Barnett despite on such short notice;

“It's a shame that this has happened but I am willing to step in if I'm given the call” said Severn

“I think it would make for an entertaining fight as well and I know its something the fans would like to see too."

lmfao how pathetic would that be

''You probably thought this was a bright idea, who hit the light switch? Hype shift, this is where it looks like the fight's fixed, tight fist, beat you with the hand that I write with, punchlines that remind Rodney King of the night sticks...''

He would definitely win. Look at all the belts in that picture. Plus the mustache.

I might get laughed at, but I could see The Beast giving Fedor some fits.

Props to the legend for stepping up to the plate.

I'd sure like to see Dana send his boy Brock over to meet Fedor. But I know it wouldn't happen. Only way Dana would sacrifice Brock the cash-cow is if he was getting Fedor into his promotion instead.

Severn is too far over the hill to fight Fedor and expect to win. If he just wants money, he should try to come back to the UFC seniors league. Or go try pro-wrestling.

I forgot to mention how crappy this is on account of Barnett. Here was an epic fight that fans were dying to see, now with his alleged drug use (if it is true)he has screwed himself, Fedor, Affliction, and the fans to the point of having to look at a last-minute replacement for Fedor to kick ass on just to keep the show afloat. It went from epic to dissapointing. Hasn't Barnett had bouts with drug use before? I think I heard that is why he isn't in the UFC? I guess I should go look it up...

He already did pro wrestling! He just wants to compete...he's never been in it for the money!
