I'm sorry I didn't know.

Yeah, same guy different account. Somehow I forgot both my old password and the email I used, so I just made a new account.

It's a 2nd world country outside of the cities, IMO, 3rd world as it becomes more rural and insane.

Hell yeah, even the cities aren't exactly 1st world, I've had mate's who've lived there and said it can be a damn scary place. Everyone who's well off is either government or mafia, which is probably the same thing, or a business person with connections in the government/mafia.

My friend just got back from 2 months in St. Petersburg and Moscow. It's not that Wild West craziness in the cities of course, but everything is a hustle and people do not think twice about stealing your stuff, for example.

Anyway I explained stuff like, any car you see that's a low-numbered license plate is a politician or organizatsiya.

depending on where you are, she said cops/security guards, whoever, tend not to like it. They would yell "DOKUMENTI!"

Anyway, given the issues and dynamics previously mentioned, I think it's safe to say that organizatsiya has a significant stake in any goldmine or potential goldmine over there.

Yeah its an awful pity, but I guess that's the way things run over there! I wonder what they think you're taking a picture of? Maybe they just don't generally trust outsiders...

If they let the UFC essentially own the rights to Fedor in a multiple fight contract, all they stand to profit from are Fedor's fight purses. Why let their business (M-1) become obsolete in the meantime by essentially granting ownership of their biggest draw to the UFC? What reason would anyone have anymore to care about M-1 events if Fedor is in the UFC?

The big money is not Fedor's fight purse, it's the PPV haul. That's the slice of the pie they want. They figured they might as well try to see if they could get it. If not, no biggie, they already profit from fedor as it is.

Now they can continue making money not just from Fedor's fight purse, but from the co-promotion with other smaller-than-UFC promotions here in the US but also particularly abroad. And the press/attention they got in these "negotiations" both for M-1 and their fighter has been priceless, as has been the increase in interest of MMA fans who weren't previously very familiar with him. You can bet a lot of newer fans will be far more likely now to purchase Fedor's next fight, to see what the fuss is all about.

As I have stated elsewhere .. the only real chance we have of seeing Fedor under a UFC contract that does not benefit M-1 will be if Fedor Defects to the US..
