Until then we should forborne that!
Do you not think that speaks volumes for Jones' talent and ability. I mean learning to strike and learning Judo from videos on the internet and then becoming one of the most promising fights in mma right now? That is insane. Imagine how good his striking is going to be now hes training properly.

I think you're overlooking the size and weight advantage here. Like mentioned earlier, there are weight classes for a reason! I think Jones would actually throw GSP around pretty easily, he has freakish strength and awesome wrestling. GSP also has great wrestling, but the size and weight difference is just too much here.

I think your underestimating Jones striking too. I think in around 2 years time, Jones will be an elite striker as well as an elite greco roman wrestler.

Absolutely! When did I ever deny that??

I can't remember that I ever saw somebody that talented before. This guy is a true prodigy and will probably hold that belt in 2,3,4 years time. Why do you come up with that anyway? It has nothing to do with our debate here. We are talking about 2010 not 2014 when this is the LHW champ.

Again the size isn't enough to equate the huge skill difference between the two today. In 3,4 years he will make GSP quit! But not 2010!

I mention it because i do believe that even in 2010, Jones would beat GSP. For what he lacks in skill currently, he makes up for with size, (crazy reach advantage), weight, power and athleticism. They are a lot of factors to take into consideration that work in Jones favour regardless of his current skill level.

I think as it stands now, Jones would throw GSP down and beat him up with GNP (we've seen how viscous Jones GNP is). He is just too big for GSP.

Oh ok Gotcha!

But again, the size disadvantage is not so big like you guys thing it is. It's not like GSP a 170 lbs, fights Jones a 205 guy.

I dunno how many times I have posted this yet. But GSP would fight at probably 205-210. He would try to add as much mass as possible. He would easily be able to make the 205 scale.

Jones would of course do the same like he always does. Fight as a huge LHW. Probably around 220-230.

Thats not a huge size advantage in my eyes.

Really thats the last time I posted this..

...All is good with Jon Jones. I think the kid has mad skills especially how he smashed Vera with such ease. He's maturing at a championship pace. GSP & Jones are separated by a huge margin in size & weight. That match-up would never happen so enough said about that. I think Jones needs to fight Bader or a Franklin. If Jones crushed Franklin, that would solidify a shot at the top of the 205 heap. In that class, Anderson Silva is still the #5 ranked LHW in the world. If Jones were to beat any of the top 5- Shogun, Machida, Evans, Rampage or Anderson, Bones for certain would have the belt real soon...

Just going to make an observation.

I've never seen a smacktalk thread gather such a heated debate, while keeping things in a civil manner. Pretty cool.
