Bruce Lee studied the concept of Jeet Kune Do....the way of the intercepting fist, the first rule of this method is to not let your opponent get close to you by leveraging distance.....

Bruce Lee.......

Surely his knowledge of Western boxing, Judo, Jujitsu, and Karate (all have proven to be effective in MMA) would make him a lightweight Anderson Silva at a million miles a minute?

Other then my own father I have no idols or heroes really. Except for Bruce Lee. His inspiration lives in me to this day. I visited his and Brandon's grave site when I stopped in Seattle to visit a sick friend I served with on my way home from Alaska. I spent several hours just sitting there. So it pains me to say I believe Royce would win. Huge size advantage and more experience fighting. I would hope Bruce could stay away and pick him apart and that could very well have happened. Who really knows though. I actually dont even like to entertain the thought of Bruce losing but Im trying to be objective.

I doubt Bruce would lose, he was a Judoka and Royce's takedowns aren't too good, he could try and pull guard put i could see a one inch punch coming before Royce could get him down, he's too fast, too technical and way too evasive for Royce IMO. Not to mention that killer sidekick he had.

It's tough to say. I say that because we're all very aware of what Royce is capable of, but there's a lot of mystique around Bruce. Just looking at this thread, apparently Lee trained in a bazillion different martial arts and was a master of them all - Not really, but I'm sure you get my point.

From what I've seen, Bruce practiced a brutal, non-sport style of kickboxing (call it Kung Fu, Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Do, whatever). One of the key aspects to his style in this fight is the importance he placed on distance. Royce has never had explosive takedowns, and Bruce would be sure to keep him at the end of his striking range. It really depends on if Bruce hit hard enough to keep Royce from muscling him to the ground.

The second the fight hits the ground, Gracie wins. If Royce gets stuffed on the takedowns or never can get in range to grab him, Lee by KO.

Royce wouldn't have the ability to close the distance and get in there to get him to the ground. Lee would stay outside and him it. Royce doesn't like to get hit.

It wouldn't even be close. Royce fought a bunch of chumps in the early days of the UFC. His BJJ is made out to be something spectacular when in reality it's not.

Royce has no stand up skills. He'd get destroyed trying to close the distance the entire fight.
