Poor Butthurt Vera

FC light-heavyweight fighter Brandon “The Truth” Vera (11-5) is looking to return to the octagon this coming December or January. Even though he suffered a severe eye injury at the hands of Jon Jones last March, in the main event of UFC LIVE: Vera vs. Jones, Vera doesn’t believe any of the hype that is currently surrounding the rising young fighter.

“During the fight I remember thinking, ‘Man, really? All the hype was about this guy?’” Vera said. “I specifically remember saying to him in my head, ‘Man, you (expletive) suck.’

“Right when the ‘k’ came out in my head, I got blasted.”

“It’s hard for me to say because he beat me, but I still don’t believe the hype,” Vera said. “I like Jon Jones as a fighter, but I owe that (expletive). He’s definitely not coming to my house for Christmas.”

During the first round, Jones threw an elbow that fractured Vera’s face in three places. It also severed a nerve and lodged a chip of bone behind his right eyeball.

To repair the damage, Vera had to undergo multiple surgeries, the last of which took place just seven weeks ago.

“I’m still babying it, but it’s getting better,” Vera said. “At one point, I couldn’t even touch it. December or January is when I’m looking to come back. I test my face every day to see what I can get away with.”

So he's not impressed with someone that injured him with an ELBOW strike that crushed 3 bones in his face, that STILL have him out of action...

Oh, and I guess he wouldn't be impressed by the fact that he did absolutely NOTHING to even hurt Jones or put him in any harm at all...

I can't wait til the UFC sends him packing to Strikeforce.

I wonder how many people still believe in your hype Brandon...

haha, that's exactly why there's hype about this guy. vera got hammered.

that break sounds nasty though, i can't imagine the piece of bone lodged behind the eyeball being too fun.

Although I'm not officially on the Jones hype train the man is one hell of a prospect. However u guys can't blame Brandon dude is a fighter. Fighters are not suppose to be scared or ever think there is someone better.

Alright Vera, don't believe the hype. When you're healthy and want to give Johnny another whirl, go ahead and don't believe the hype while he's literally smashing your face into pieces again. We'll all laugh at you for being someone who could never live up to HIS OWN HYPE.

It's odd to hear him saying stuff like that. I'd understand if the fight was close even for a second, but he was getting dumped and completely controlled.

Also, I knew that elbow was bad but I had no idea it was that bad! Severed nerve? Bone chip behind the eye? 3 breaks? Geez dude! A single elbow crushed his face.

Wow. HUGE overreaction by some posters.

The guy can say what he wants, and he really didn't insult anyone at all. BUT, I guess a lot of people just don't like Vera in the first place, so that's where it comes from. I wish Vera would have at least tried an armbar or triangle instead of waiting to get blasted though.

Guys are running him down for being upset about a loss? I don't know what expletive he used but I'm guessing it was mother effer or sum bitch. Sounds like he wants another go at him. Thats commendable if you ask me. Not too many people would be in a hurry to fight a guy that broke their face. Haters gonna hate
