Diego Sanchez vs. Matt Hughes
1) This fight absolutely, definitely needs to happen and soon.
2) If this fight were to happen right now i say Diego Sanchez wins. What's more, Matt gets KTFO. Matt would take Diego down mid way through the first, but Diego would survive. Then in the second Diego would get taken down early on, but get back to his feet half way through the round then catch Matt shooting in and put him on the canvas with a knee.
Alright, start flaming...

I can see that happening. I think that fight could easily go either way

how about this...
even though i dont like matt hughes or gnp in general, he'll be able to take diego down early in the first. diego will survive till the bell, but he wont be as lucky in the second.
referee stoppage in the second due to strikes. winner: matt hughes.

I take Diego on this one, he's hungrier than ever to prove that he's one of the best in his class and what better way than KTFO of Hughes...

I really dont know who would win in this one. If Hughes doesnt try to do his normal striking, his power would be hard for Diego to handle.
I could see it going either way.
Probably would go to whoever is in better shape.

Matt Hughes would put Diego Sanchez in his place. Then again, Sanchez has got a good chance...

Diego Sanchez would win this fight with strikes. Diego is quicker and his stand up is much better. Matt Hughes looked awful striking against Penn before the injury or BJ gassing, and it was non existent against GSP. Matt may be a little stronger but not to the point where he could man-handle Diego. I don't see Hughes getting close enough Diego to take him down.
Diego by KO round 1
I think Hughes v. Parisyan would be much more entertaining.

Did all of you suddenly forget who Matt Hughes is? You think because he dropped a fight to Rush that somehow invalidates his dominence of the Welterweight division? He's 42-5 in his MMA career. The guy's a machine - he has not only the raw talent, discipline and the confidence, he's got experience. You think he got 42 victories by fighting losers and bums?
Rush showed Hughes his weaknesses, and like the champion he is, he'll return to the gym, address them, and re-enter the Octagon more dangerous then when he left. Georges St. Pierre vs Matt Hughes III will happen - Sanchez and Lytle won't stop him.

Not at all Omaplata. Hughes is one of my favorite fighters. I've just been saying for along time that Diego has the chance to be a Hall of Famer someday. The question is,can he take Matt yet? If Matt sticks to what he does best then NO,but whatever happens Diego has a chance and I think the fight will be close.
