clearly no one has specific examples that would warrant being called those things.

man i cant believe i read through this entire thread lol....from all the stories ive heard of matt he seems like a douche, this synopsis is too biased to take seriously though
but man ive read maaaany stories on forums of ppl saying matt treated them like crap, though obviously he will treat some ppl well
idk...he seems like an ass but i cant truly say he is one, i respect what he has done in the cage but i really dont care about him outside of it

But Matt is also a celebrity and people are going to bash (or praise) him and infer what they want to from the media. So does he "deserve" it? Does any celeb? We got to see a lot of him on TUF and personally I am making the assumption that if that is how he acts when he knows he is on camera there is a good chance he may be worse off camera.
In similar assumptive fashion I also think that since Hughes has no intention of hurting his own image he wrote the book with any shady events in the best possible light.
If people are allowing this synopsis to form or change their opinion on Hughes then i'm right along with you in arguing the fallacy. But I have always had a strong dislike to Hughes, founded or not.

i really dont think the lack of replies denotes the lack of potential replies. the allegations made in this thread are sourced in his own autobiography. if you want to refute them then you need to read the thread and refute the specific allegations one by one, not lean on others to remake them.

1st chapter.
Suddenly, wham! Mark’s hammer slipped out of his hand and hit me right on the top of the head. I leaned over and grabbed the hammer. “Get down here!” I yelled at him. I want vengeance, I fumed. “I said, get down here!”
My twin looked down from his branch, saw a crazy person waving a hammer in a threatening manner, and decided he didn’t want to move toward me one inch.
I took that hammer, cocked back my arm, and threw it directly at him.

1st chapter
One time I went down the hill behind our house over to the field, passing the thin creek that ran under the trees. There was Mark, smoking a cigarette with Brian Cameron. He thought he could get away with it, I realized. You can’t see the house from down here and the house can’t see you. “What, are you smoking now?” I asked. Mark shrugged and took another drag. “I think I’m going to talk to Mom and Dad about what you’re doing here.”
“Just leave me alone,” Mark muttered. “Come on, don’t go tell them.”
“I’ll tell you what,” I said. “I like that Simmons knife you got. You’re going to have to give me that.”
“I got that for my birthday!”
“I know it was for your birthday. Mine’s the same day,” I told him, laughing. Mark just stared at me.
“That’s a real nice knife,” Mark pointed out. “I don’t think that’s fair.”
“I don’t care what you think is fair or what isn’t fair. Mark, you need to give me that knife,” I insisted.
“You need to just give him the knife,” Brian said.
“Fine,” Mark said. “Just go take it and get the heck out of here.”
I went up the hill and found the knife in his room. I took it and claimed it as my own, never thinking anything of it.

dont twist it. and i do. the point is the book is full of stuff like this. thats the first chapter. you cant take the polemic synopsis at the start of this thread and use that as evidence to discount the veracity of the accusation. matt hughes is getting slated by far more people than the guy who dropped this thread. every ****in review site ive looked at is ripping the book and the author. the worst part is these independent reviews are populated largely with hughes/ufc fans. who the **** else would give a shite.
http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=z...itesec=reviews
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Made-America...1101222&sr=1-1
but its all good. if someone makes an argument based on reading the thing, you make them the odd one out.
if someone cites the 100s of other reviews you say ppl should read it themselves.
if someone cites him throwing a hammer straight in his brothers face, you cite some idylic waltons mountain type horseplay horse shit. yes you are right. its perfectly normal to beat the shit out of your siblings growing up. picking up a hammer and throwing it straight at their face however is not normal. quoting that incident years later with pride is not normal. and if you are seriously suggesting it is, then i fear neither are you.
we all have opinions tho and you are welcome to yours.
good luck with that way of seeing it.
