I respect the fact that he at least took a lot of meat to eat it. Hunting and then only taking the horns/antlers/skin is probably the most disgusting thing I can think of that someone would consider sport.

That being said I really do not understand the joy he gets from hunting with a powerful rifle and scope. I mean he used a freaking scope to kill the thing from a far distance....and it was just chilling!

Maybe if he used a hunting bow and had to get even somewhat close I might respect it a bit more.

But again I gotta give him a nod for at least taking the meat to eat. I will never insult or criticize a hunter who eats what he kills. Killing for sport/trophies? Those kind of hunters deserve the same fate as the animals they kill.

And how would you answer someone who says if you fight to protect your life that's cool but if you fight for fun you're a f**king animal. ??

First I have to ask what that has to do with hunting? The intention of sports combat is not to kill.

But, if you wanna go off topic, I would simply say that fighting is a relatively safe sport that two willing participants engage in. There is no innocent victim who has no choice or understanding of the situation.

A sanctioned mma fight takes place with two willing individuals who both stand to profit from the match and in the process entertain us. I'm not sure how that is comparable to some guy with a high powered rifle with a scope, and other technologies that making the playing field ridiculously imbalanced, sniping off a deer for shits to make himself feel powerful.

And it's not that I think people who do it are animals. Animals would eat what they kill. I think it is disgusting to derive pleasure by taking the life away from something just to hang it on your wall.

I also think it is selfish to kill something you clearly find beautiful enough to display and therefor rob others the chance of ever seeing it alive.

I'll say it again, though: if you hunt and eat what you kill I fully respect that. Anyone who eats meat but is unwilling to see an animal die for that same meat is a hypocrite.

He has used a hunting bow before, check it out on youtube if you want. That climate doesn't fit the bow, where there are these massive hills and whatnot.

I am no hunter so I am be wrong, but you need a relatively flat surface to hunt with a bow(not 100% flat). Otherwise you make a bad shot, and the animal will suffer in the end.

Plus you need to be within about 40-45 yards away to get an accurate shot. Most bow hunters use a feeder to assasinate deer anyway.

More deer killed would hurt nothing and if you grind the meat with enough bacon it ain't that bad

Terrible comparison.

A. Hunting for sport takes very little skill when you're using high powered rifles, dogs to chase the animal down, etc etc
B. Fighting for sport takes years and years of dedication and courage
C.Hunting for sport involves killing an unwilling participant
D. Fighting for sport involves fighting a willing participant in an agreed upon time, place, and setting

Hunting is really a disgusting and sick sport. If you're out there with a bow and arrow, or a knife, and you're tracking an animal for food, then more power to you. But, if you're using dogs, or high powered rifles with scopes that can let you pick off some innocent and oblivious animal from a mile away you're just pathetic. Then to go hang the head and horns on the wall like you're some big man badass. Hunting is antiquated, and silly.

Unless your a vegetarian I don't want to hear another person complain about hunting. Oh the poor dear.. what do you think that cow that made your steak had a sporting chance? The chicken you had for lunch? I have hunted and if you think shooting a deer with a rifle and scope is so easy you have obviously never tried it. Mule deer are pretty stupid though so it makes it slightly easier but big bucks don't get big by being stupid.

I get annoyed listening to people who have no actual appreciation for how hard it is to find, track etc a big buck. Typically the reason you hear people say they don't hunt for food its because they only hunt trophy bucks. Just like all meat the old ass big deer taste like crap. We used to shoot a young doe (female deer) for food and just keep out buck tag for if we shot a trophy buck. (never got one personally)

Are you a vegetarian ? If not have you seen a slotter house ? Do you know how the meat gets to your grocery store? Hunting isn't that easy. I know guys that spend thousands of dollars for a week every year and come home empty handed. Learn the hobby/sport before you pipe off. Also most avid hunters put more into preserving their sport and wild life then you whiners !
