The only people that can complain about hunting for food are vegans.

All this thread does is make me realize that many "city" people have never been out of the city. Never in the woods. Never 2 minutes away from a McDonalds. Those who have no clue about anything other than city life really shouldn't comment.

So what should we not eat meat? A person can't shoot a deer and hull it back to cook up and freeze? But cows, chickens, fish can be mass produced and killed in farms thousands at a time? Go stand in a butcher shop killing and chopping up cows...then look at your nice prime rib dinner...then slap yourself in the face.

Regardless, I couldn't kill a deer myself, but I have absolutely no problem if someone else does it. Brock's reason to hunt is for sport and food. Not sure where you get this "no reason" from. It's not like he is shooting it and leaving it to die and moving onto the next deer.

From my experience, people like to take issue with things they don't fully understand. This may not be the case with you, but I would suggest doing some more research (esp. regarding deer populations).
Killing because of overpopulation wouldn't be for no reason, though. I would consider that a perfectly valid reason for hunting. If they happen to hang it on their wall after they kill it that's cool, too.

I keep seeing these arguments repeated over and over again but i've seen barley any posts disagreeing with this?

People are fine with hunting for food. What people are not comfortable with is hunting for fun or pleasure, NOT FOR FOOD. That is what i have a problem with.

I'm an animal lover and killing or hunting animals just for fun makes me angry. If you're hunting for food, thats perfectly fine and normal, thats not what people have an issue with as ape city has pointed out numerous times.

It's funny to think that we humans can have a long debate on whether or not killing deer is morally ok when the average male deer would just kill you on sight.

Almost Nobody in America needs to hunt for food. It is all for fun and pleasure. I grew up in a hunting culture and started at a young age. I lost my taste for it around the age of 20 or so. I just don't like to kill.

However I do recognize it for what it is. One of the deepest most powerful instincts we have, right up there with sex. People who enjoy hunting and especially the one who make some challenge of it are not that different than people who enjoy watching and participating in violence.(please don't start an mma is not violence argument)

mma is what our ancestors did to unwind after the real adventure of hunting was over.

when we evolve beyond one thrill we'll probably move beyond the other.

There is more to life than sex and MMA? I'll be on Snopes validating this.....

Indeed.

Now, trying to re-hijack this thread...

It's also funny that we are so ignorant that we think nature actually needs us to take care of overpopulation and the climate. We say we do it for nature, but in reality we do it for ourselves. Environmentalists don't care for the environment, they care for their natural habitat and ONLY that.
