MMA Smacktalk MMA Smacktalk is for all the cheering, jeering, and smack-talking that you want. This is the stuff that isn't appropriate for the MMA Discussion forum. Rules are light, so if you don't have a sense of humor, then don't go here!

Awful. One of the worst cases of discrimination of have ever seen.
Dana really needs to take a long hard look in the mirror and ask if he really wants to discriminate against the disabled.

I have an open mind when it comes to humor. In fact, I am borderline overly immature.
That being said, I find this type of humor to be sickening. Many of our young Marines (and other members of the armed forces) have been crippled and can no longer pursue their dreams (e.g., fighting or sports). It's no laughing matter.

Good thing they aren't making fun of crippled marines then right? The joke was about someone with metal hands trying to fight in the UFC and you are just twisting it to be about something else.
Current issues are the number one source for comedy and you can't expect people to sensor themselves because it may offend someone.
Either everything is okay to make fun of or nothing is. There is no grey area in censorship.

I, too, thought it was serious until he caved his opponent's skull in.

Yeah mee too. It seemed legit until the dude had a hole in his face. However, right before that he ripped a speed bag open with his hand and I thought it was real... I was about to post here and be like "wtf? no shit he is banned."

The opening line "Ex-Marine, Nick... who lost both of his hands in Iraq". Maybe you should watch it again.
Making jokes about current issues is one thing... this is quite another. you're right, there is no grey area... this falls under the outright wrong. If it was just "someone with metal hands trying to fight in the UFC" fine.

They're not making fun of crippled marines, is the point. The fact that he is in the joke doesn't mean he is being made fun of, he could just as easily have lost his hands in a logging accident or a machining accident. It's just backstory to set up the joke.
