Insane: who would turndown several millions as their mma debut in the ufc
Kurt Angle would. Yet he keeps talking about making his UFC debut for years and years. Most recently being a few months ago saying he will join UFC once his TNA contract is up.
"He (Dana White) offered me an 8 year deal 1 fight, but after that I would have to sit in the audience. I would just say it was double figures in the million...my life has more of a purpose then sitting and watching guys fight"
"I only got 1 fight left in me"
"He (Chuck Liddell) could be a heavyweight champion with the way the heavyweights are right now for boxing"
I'm not sure how Angle in MMA would turn out. The guy has a neck and back that is totally fubar. But you never know. After all he won a gold medal with a broken neck.
In all honesty his ship has sailed. He has been injured too many times, doesn't have the advantage of training full-time and still he keeps talking, what the hell?
Angle right after the olympics, crossing into MMA would have been a monster. Sadly, that was not where the money was back then, so he went with pro wrestling. Can't blame a man for going with the money :P

Why the hell are you posting a video from 2008 as today's news?!?!
Videos a bit old but then and more so now a days I would be surprised if he could handle fighting. He doesn't even do pro wrestling matches to often anymore, but when he does he goes all out (did a backflip off a ~15ft cage at their last ppv).
But if we play the what if game I bet he could of been great if
1. He had got into MMA right after the Olympics.
2. He didn't have neck problems.
He said hes 245lb in that interview but thats probably his billed weight or his out of shape weight. He won the gold in the 198-220lb division and I recall him saying he was 211 lbs when he was on Pros vs Joes. So he could of been in the sub 200lbs division way back in the day or a LHW (possibly MW) when they brought in more classes (don't know when they did that) and if he got some decent skills to go with his wrestling he might of did really good ~10 years ago.

I highly doubt he'd even get cleared by any athletic commission.
The guy's neck and whole body for that matter is beyond ****ed, he's destroyed himself like so many other professional wrestlers he'd be so slow in the Octagon or any ring for that matter leading to a vicious KO and some more damage to a body that simply doesn't need it.
Why the hell are you posting a video from 2006 as today's news?!?!
Fixed lol.
But yeah - I think Kurt had the ability to definitely be one of the best ever, had he pursued MMA immediately after the '96 Olypics, instead of going to pro-wrestling.
