MMA Smacktalk MMA Smacktalk is for all the cheering, jeering, and smack-talking that you want. This is the stuff that isn't appropriate for the MMA Discussion forum. Rules are light, so if you don't have a sense of humor, then don't go here!

If not, then why would Sonnen be? Low testosterone is common and if he was using prescribed hormones to boost his T levels into a normal range, I see no misuse of "roids".
If someone knows more about the actual test values, then please let me know. If they are out of the normal range, then he's a cheater and everyone on this forum/elsewhere has the right to call him such. If not, then the morons saying "omg roids!" are ignorant.

He had a 16.9:1 test/epitest ratio. That's the whole reason he got in trouble. He never tested positive for a steroid, but his ratios were so high it made it obvious that he was on TRT.

Im English and i think that Sonnen is the best thing to happen to MMA in years , a guy who talks straight adds a bit of humour knows his strengths and brings it no bullshit.

Some people say they like a fighter with a bad attitude because they are skilled fighters. But they are also entertained by their antics as well. Its why fighters like Nick Diaz, Tito Ortiz, and Chael Sonnen are the most talked about.
Also, Some people probably just want to see Anderson Silva lose. Some might want to see a shake up in the middleweight division(Chael Winning the belt would do that) or they probably just hate Anderson Silva (Mainly because they think he is arrogant and disrespectful. Just look at the Damian Maia fight).

Reading though the pages I've seen a bit of baiting and insulting behavior. I cannot stress this enough:
No baiting or insulting behavior!
These things will result in thread being moved/closed and infractions handed out.
People are usually kind and respectful in here, but somehow Chael brings out the worst in us - please stop it.

To the OP there's a large contingency of fans alike who agree he is one foul mouthed orator. Initially I liked em when he first entered the UFC, then realized he was a an endless self promoter who even worse is hypocritical.
So I decided to take matters in my own hand and send a text to him personally. Begins with 503- you can google it.
I congratulated for his win against Stann, asked him about whether his rematch with Silva was confirmed, and ended it with saying btw: I think you should apologize about the comment you made about his wife.
No response as of yet.

I’m not an American, which qualifies me to assure you that I don’t think the US is a country full of people like Chael Sonnen. Not even that former President of yours has achieved that, and man, he tried really hard. Every person who judges over a whole country because of one citizen of that country is an idiot.
Initially I had similar feeling towards Mr. Sonnen as the thread opener has, but after following the UFC for about 2 month now I realized that the polarization caused by Mr. Sonnen is exactly what he wants to achieve. And the fact that this thread exist – as so many others – dedicated to statements of a fighter who hasn’t really achieved that much, proves his talent.
I personally don’t need all that “selling a bout” stuff. I would be perfectly happy with fighters treating each others as what they are, sportsmen. I just don’t think that it should be about more than two athletes competing in a MMA-match. A good reason for not liking Mr. Sonnen is that he is a cheated taking an amount of a substance (which he may need or not for medical reasons) to get an illegal advantage. He should be banned for that forever.
I don’t pay much attention to his statements, neglecting him therefore what he wants most. But there seems to be a lot of people who need this WWE-attitude to be happy.
I recommend you to look at the positive aspects of marketing talent of a Chael Sonnen. Guys like him probably help the UFC to get more attention, which means more money for Mr. White and Zuffa, which might mean that they can pay the best MMA-athletes to compete, which might lead to us the possibility to see interesting fights.

Butt hurt just means your feelings are hurt badly.
