To end up in half guard you need to get perfect timing on a takedown. The only way I have been able to pull off a single leg is by catching a kick. Just flick the right stick down as he is kicking, you will grab it and take him down. Again depending on your timing you will land in a more favorable position.

As for the legs kicks slowing your opponent down....it seems to work for me. It also definitely mentions something about this in the tutorial. Also it's supposed to make their kicks slower/weaker as well. Same goes for if they block your high strikes their punches will become weaker/slower.
Just got a new best time for a knockout. 10 seconds into the 1st with Chuck. Leg kick, Leg kick, superman punch, and goodnight Shogun.

my record is 3 seconds. I was playing online as Rampage he was Forest Griffin he ran across the ring and went for a superman punch i ducked and left hook hit him right on the chin and he was out with 4:57 left in the first.

I personally play with the energy meters on the screen. The first online match I won I did by submission. I had played nothing but the PC up until that point and was winning by knockout left and right but never got a submission win. I realized after about 2 minutes in the first round that my opponent wasn't very good with the ground game (he wasn't able to sweep me or advance position) so I decided to take him down, put a few elbows into his face to wear his energy down, and when he had run himself down I slapped on the submission for the win.
I usually base my actions off of how much energy my opponent and I have. That way I can decide if I want to drain him with strong shots, wear him down with smaller shots, or pounce in for the kill.

Does anybody have any tips on how fast to spin the stick or instead to press buttons. Also, any techniques you use to get submissions when the guy is in the red. I never seem to be able to get the stamina bar to go all the way down to full yellow

Here's my tidbit of the day. I play only 5 round matches online. I have been able to significantly increase my win percentage based on wearing the other fighter down and winning via submission.

They are also missing specific damage to legs. I played a match with no one using the other controller and kicked chuck in the leg for 10 min straight. Shogun could still move around the ring just as fast. Maybe it hurts his ability to shoot, but it doesnt seem to do anything other than cause very tiny amounts of damage (over 10 that is alot). I had really hoped leg kicks were going to be a legitimate way to slow down aggressive strikers.

Well this does slow down aggressive fighters, when you hit them in the leg, it lowers there stamina, in which, if you attack aggressively, then you'll get tired. EASY Submission. So they can't be aggressive. But i hate that there's not leg checks, i just take them down with counters.

actually kicking the leg takes away from the damage you receive from their kicks, also theres no real leg check but you can just hold the body block and it will work.

When I'm mounted, how do i flip them?
Every time, i try everything, my dude always tries to roll.
And that's so easy to stop, and it wears me down.
So, How do i roll them over so I'm in guard?
I try LB Up-Right
But it doesn't work.

Its to easy to get into mount defense and very rare to get out of it. I even hold the right stick to the right to block the pass and it never stops them. Flicking only works on major transitions if im not mistaken?

to get into half guard on the take down it's actually a counter, but it's not just a normal TD either. you need to do your TD with your stick at 4:30 instead of 3. easy as pie.
