The nerd in me keeps things going by printing out the complete roster and having a tourney with random people in 'ranked' mode, just cross out the fighters that lose and circle the ones that win til I've played with them all.

We dont technically need them. We need their rankings though so it is fair to the champions, although some solely via paper.

I'm slowly making my way up to level 100 (I'm at 91 now).

I also have one more weight class to make a CAF and win the championship in (for the pound-for-pound medal).

Just do rankings based in reverse order on what round you were eliminated. For people who were eliminated the same round just go based on how far their opponents went.

thats what we were gunna do, but working it all out just took too long, and it was confusing me when i was trying to get the rankings in order

the real killer, what made the format we did unteanable, were the no-shows which were more than half the sign-ups.

I think the only way to make it work, after learning our lesson on the bracket system, is to have a points system for contendership where your wins:loss ratio dictates your score. But, if for some reason you guys choose a bracket system again (not a good choice, imo) here is a bracket document. Feel free to use it: http://idreamdigital.com/projects/ffl/Document1.txt. If you go with brackets... you might want to consider not doing classes... so all each round of the tourny might be a dif weight class. That way you have more flexibility when people no-show.
