OK I have been plying the demo and I can't pull off a damn submission not even on beginner. I also have a hard time defending submissions too. I did I.t no problem on the last game by smashing buttons but that's not working now. Also not making progress with the stick rotation. Is the a specific direction i need to rotate it or am i just not rotating it fast enough? Any help?

I saw this on the game's site, developer tips:

To get out of a Submission, the important thing to remember this year is to do something we on the team call "Clean Shines." Smooth, clean shining where you constantly touch the edge of the Right Stick/Right Analog is better than frantic shining where you jump from Stick/Analog surface to surface. And in general, Clean Shines are much more important than fast Shines (although the faster the Clean Shine, the better). A good rule of thumb to go by is that if you can hear your Shine, you're doing it wrong!

To improve your chances of successfully completing a Submission, all the old rules apply: make sure you're in a good advantaged position – it's easier to submit someone from Mount than it is from Open Guard – and make sure to take advantage of situation in which your opponent has low Energy (that's Energy, not Stamina, although sometimes by virtue of your opponent having low Stamina, it's easier for them to have low Energy). The only new wrinkle we've added this year is that it's also much easier to submit an opponent once they're Rocked.

Beyond that, Clean Shines is the only other tip I can offer.

Also if they are tired, I usually clinch with them and then slam them, then immediately submit them. It has been working a lot for me lately.

Thanks that did it. Still can't sub rampage with rashad though.

I didn't learn hardly anything from the demo, most things from forums and articles. But confident I'll get all I need to know Monday night when I buy it and start playing career where they teach you the moves and everything. Then I'll be almost decent

on ps3 if anybody wants to play.

Man if you had xbox we could set up a pretty bad ass MMAF camp I must say.

Right you are, most people here have xbox though so no worries for you. The only people that would play me last year on ps3 were leif, GNP, Stadwon and DP. Yeah, they all destroyed me, but still fun.
