Today we got to sit down with Jeff Sutton and his wife Jenny, the founders of Last Round Best Round, to chat about their new business endeavor and how it all started. Last Round Best Round is a clothing company from Glendale, Arizona.

MMA2Go: How did it all begin?

LastRoundBestRound: “We were helping out a family friend with an idea she had to help raise money for breast cancer (she is a breast cancer survivor). Thus we designed “fight like a girl” tee shirts and stickers.”

MMA2Go: What made you decide to get involved with MMA?

LastRoundBestRound: “We are huge MMA fans; we wanted to be more involved with the sport.” So we came up with our own design for Last Round Best Round. We love the excitement and the sportsmanship of MMA.

MMA2Go: Where did the phrase Last Round Best Round come from?

LastRoundBestRound: “I dabbled a little in MMA myself, just for the fitness, and for our last round the trainers always said… ok “Last Round” and we would all say “Best Round”!”

MMA2Go: Who or what influenced you the most when starting Last Round Best Round?

LastRoundBestRound: “We are huge fans of MASK and the TAPOUT crew. We loved the story of how they began, the way they sponsored fighters and interacted with them. We really want to get more involved like that!” The article written in the UFC magazine about MASK was very inspirational.

MMA2Go: What do you look for in a fighter, if you’re going to sponsor them?

LastRoundBestRound: “Love for the sport and determination to do their best, humble and love for the fans. We went to the UFC Expo in Vegas and met a lot of fighters. They were all very humble and grateful for the fans!

MMA2Go: Do you approach fighters for sponsorship or do they usually approach you?

LastRoundBestRound: “We have experienced both. We have approached some fighters at the events about sponsorship and fighters have approached us about the awesome design on our shirts we were wearing.”

MMA2Go: What is LastRoundBestRound’s plans for the future?

LastRoundBestRound: “Our plan is to help raise money for breast cancer research, sponsor fighters, be involved with their careers and have TONS OF FUN doing it.” Our ultimate goal is sponsor the LAST ROUND of every fight with the announcer saying LAST ROUND and the crowd screaming BEST ROUND!!

MMA2Go: I understand you started making t-shirts from your garage, is that true?

LastRoundBestRound: “We have made the shirts and stickers from our garage, my wife (Jenny) actually hand paints each shirt after creating the stencil with her Cricut machine but have found some companies to make us shirts, MMA shorts, hats, gloves etc.” Considering how she makes them – isn’t it awesome and wont it make a great story some day?!
