The Dreamcatcher: Gegard Mousasi

-The Dreamcatcher-

Gegard Mousasi(26-2-1), known for running through Dream's Middleweight GP, (hence the name The Dreamcatcher), is personally one of my favorite fighters. Mousasi fights so naturally, he is his own weapon. What he is able to do to opponents is like an art in its self. His fight style allows him to have a highlight reel of knockouts and submissions that you have never seen before.

The young fighter (only age 24), is one of the biggest prospects Mixed Martial Arts has seen in a while. And yes I did say prospect, Mousasi has another 8-10 years left in the sport. I think four years from now you will be able to see how much he has improved and how good he really will be. A fighter of his caliber with the experience he has had in fighting, as well as the fact that his MMA career has just begun, is quite frankly, a little scary.

Mousasi started hit Mixed Martial Arts training at a young age, doing Judo and Boxing. He then transfered over to Kickboxing which eventually lead him to MMA. Gegard was the 2006 Cage Warriors Middleweight Champion, The 2008 Dream Middleweight Champion, The 2008 Dream Middleweight GP Champion(not a typo, two different belts) and he is Currently the 2009 Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion.

Be sure to watch out for Mousasi in the next few years. Maybe he will eventually be offered a UFC contract so he can be thrown in with the rest of the great 205 fighters that their organization has to offer.

One of my top 3 favourite fighters for sure. Not well known for his skill level, most of his opponents under estimate him... big mistake
