well I grew up with 2 older brothers, when we fought id do bjj, not that I knew what bjj was back then but rear naked chokes and armbars you pick up on pretty quickly when getting your ass kicked, saw the mau thai clinch done, so I tried it, man is it perfect.
I have no credentials, but I'll put a rear naked choke on ya no problem, id hold my own in any type of clinch

with anybody? hell no, but there is a mau thai gym in my area, I **** up black belts in the clinch, but in alot of my street fights ive ****ed alot of people up, think franklin or leben got ****ed up by silvas clinch? atleast they were able to somewhat defend themselves, I went up against street fighters that didnt know what to do other then recieve multiple knees in the face, they try something just move them a bit, you get such an unbelievable advantage with your hands wrapped around the back of there neck, move them left or right if they try to knee/punch/grab you then knee them some more
I love the power you feel in the clinch
but if I were to go up against anderson silva and I was able to clinch him first, im sure id still get my ass tuned.

Well firstly, you don't put your hands around their neck. Secondly, there's no such thing as a black belt in Muay Thai.
And to answer Regiments question, Kruang Ruang are the armbands around your bicep, the Western Thai Boxing gyms equivalent to Belts. So basically it's just a grading system. You have to complete techniques and sparring sessions to earn them, but in Thailand they don't exist to my knowledge, and are given by the Kru to the Student as a form of good luck for the fight.
AFIK, anyway.

Thankyou, i've just never heard of any grades at all in Thai Boxing, but i would presume some kru's do it in the west. I've been training in Muay Thai for around a year and had been doing jeet kune do for a few months before that.

Yeah a guy called Master Sken started it all off. You have to pay to grade though which is a bitch. That's why I was thinking of switching to MMA mostly.

my gyms mma and we still have gradings....my sensei was trained in traditional jiu jitsu then later bjj under carlson gracie.....so our jiu jitsu sessions are pretty traditional....lots of sparring and lots of philosophy/lectures which i like....for our mma gradings our belt levels go white, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, red, brown, black, so for our gradings we do half jiu jitsu...with open sparring showing the techniques then an intense sparring session in a "death circle" lol thats wat i call it.....then standup sparring in the same circle...i guess even though its mma we still use belt levels so we can go to tournaments and stuff
