southpaw

hey i have just began going to muay thai lessons in the last few weeks,and i was just wonderin
does me been left handed give be a advantage/disadvatage in muay thai or any martial arts?

Advantage as right handed fighters always generally train against other right hand fighters with the same stance as them, you have a backwards stance so punches come in from different angles and can throw a lot of fighters off.

yes... especially if the coach knows how to train left handed --> the technic is a little different at times such as countering as well as special left-handed moves.

yeh you get an advantage from being southpaw, i just began muay thai aswel and one of the first thing the coaches said to me were make sure u are equally good in your southpaw stance as you are in your orthadax, but yeh southpaw certainly is an advantages espcially against orthdax fighters you will confuse the hell outta them

The problem with that is that is works both ways.

Being Southpaw is no problem at all. I am right handed and left footed so it's alot harder for me then most other people but i work around that and learn to fight both Orthadox and Southpaw.
