In good ole-kick boxing... I think I had been in for 3 years before I did any competition, but then again I was like 11 when I entered my first comp. :P

6 Months, An i won by Unanimous that was Muay Thai....

i think it just depends on how well your coming along and if your trainers believe that you are able to survive in the ring and not get taken apart an seriously injured.

Just have a chat to your trainers and talk to them about it

I think confidence is a big part of when you should start competitions. Also get some of your trainers input, I doubt they wouldn't be honest to save you an ass beating.

I am training for my first kickboxing fight which may be in July. I have only been doing kickboxing for a few months, but did kung fu for about 2 years before hand.

It just like Matt Hughes says, i know he is an MMA fighter not a kickboxer or thai fighter but it applies to both... "A fight is 80% mental, if you have it up stairs then you will compete to the best of your abilites..." an so on so forth.
