I train in mma but mainly in muay thai i train with Scorpions where world champion Steve Wakeling is based and the Muay Thai is on a higher level as mma guys cross train its difficult for them to reach the high standards of the muay thai stand outs.

Anderson Silva, the Axe Murderer and Paul Daley are all bad dudes whos styles are based in muay thai so have amuch better standard than other guys

I was wondering where Anderson Silva would rank if he competed in Muay Thai. Would he be top 10 in the world or even better?
It seems his kicking power would be his only weakness in MT. What do you guys think?

He used to do MT, thats where he started out. But I wouldn't put him anywhere near top 10, there's some SERIOUS MT guys out there that would give him shit fits.

yea like a lot of these guys said noone in their right mind is going to use pure MT in mma. The most you'ld find are guys like Anderson Silva that include sick knees into their form but for the most part every mma fighter includes some aspect of MT. Now in days it has become a staple along with bjj and wrestling. Outside of the mma i believe Ramon Dekkers is the best Thai fighter that was out there

Best pure muay thai in MMA would be Malaipet... he fought for Elite XC / Strikeforce.

In Brazil he only lost 1 professional muay thai boxing match and that was to Pele.
