Using left leg for kicks

Ok so im trying to develop my kicking abilities. I can use my right leg decently when kicking, but when i try using my left, i look like im retarded and fall off balance alot. Is there some way i can improve the control on my left leg because ive tried slow repetition and Im still having trouble. I know it will feel awkward at first to use it but this is beyond awkward i cant even correctly kick with it.

Technique
Repetition, repetition, repetition

Visualize the kick to completion right before you throw it.

This is something that just takes time and commitment.

ok thanks. I was getting pretty discouraged because ive been trying it for a while but ill keep at it. :)

No problem. To keep it in perspective think how long it would take for you to learn to fluently write with your off-hand. Just some brain training :)

I used to have this problem. I just focused really hard and stretched on my off leg for about 5 minutes straight, get up and kick a little bit, then stretch it again for another few minutes. It worked for me, and biegn ambidextrious helps too ;)

lol thank you. i wish i was ambidextrious. Now what do you mean by streching on my off leg? Do you mean like balancing on it and streching it out?

My left leg use to suck too man, I've seen girls kicking harder than me. Here's what you should do. Once you have the proper technique down go to the gym on an your off day (lets say u train mon wed fri go on tue and thu or somethin) just kick the bag. But only use your left leg. My left leg kicks have increased dramatically in 2 weeks. I can't emphasize that enough. One of my instructors did this and there's a ton of right handed guys who done this and now there left leg is actually more powerful. Of course if you spent so much time on your right it would be powerful too but it's great nonetheless.

ok so it looks like repetition is key

Yeah, repitition, repitition, repitition!

Also stretches would help you with your off-leg reach and felxibilty a hell of alot, groin and hamstrings stretches are bloody good.

And maybe even pretend you dont have anything below your knee. it'll get your thighs moving higher and higher, just imagine you're kicking the bag/opponent with just your thigh, and try get perfect balance there, and then picture it with your whole leg and bam! perfect rounhouse, diagonal, or straight kick.

Fieos is the man to listen to

And remember to stretch.
