Effect on weight doing muay thai

new to the forum so saying hello all.

Started doing muay thai this week (will be in my 3rd class tomm). I absolutely love it. Just have one concern...

What can I expect to happen to my weight if I do 3-4 times a week in this routine?

1 hour group classes - 5-10 warmup, 10 minutes of abs, practicing combinations 20-25 min, holding pads for partner while he practices 20 min. in between exercises throw in some pushups, burpees, etc.

30 min kettlebell training after.

I am currently 150lbs, 5"7. I eat like a beast (4 full meals a day) and supplement with whey. diet consists mostly alot of rice, veggies, chicken, pork, and fish.

My concern is that I will lose weight at this training level. I prefer to gain another 5-10 pounds or atleast stay at my current weight. Please provide some insight? What can I expect to happen? Much appreciated!

(I apologize if I posted on the wrong forum, as this site is quite large not sure where it was appropriate)

what sort of calorie intake are you doing?

I can tell you, I will be having a hell of a time shedding the excess fat off my body. I believe that it will come during the class: jitsu work, boxing, kickboxing, and the cardio portion at the end of the night.

Are you athletically in shape is a good question to ask of yourself.

In the 1st few weeks you will be sore as .... and will have a hard time getting sleep if you do any form of ground work.

I could not find a comfortable place to lay my neck after having been submitted with 11 guillotine chokes on my 1st night. My entire body was torn to shreds with the conditioning that they pushed me through. By the time I got to the cardio portion 2.5 hours in I had no water or food that had entered my system for 2-3 hours prior.

I was pretty light headed after loosing several ounces of blood and being semi dehydrated.

The instructor's wife who runs the cardio segment saved me that night. I got through half of the cardio before gassing out from pure exhaustion and had a quarter of a half liter bottle of water. Went straight back and forged on. the water was necessary but I cramped up horridly during some jump-work in my core.

I will advise you to find a very comfortable way to fall asleep for the 1st few days/week that you start.

It depends what you wish to achieve in the end.

If you wish more muscle mass, you must cut down on the cardio. And vice versa.

Eat more calories, heavy protein + carbs. Guesstimate, any time you get hungry or just want some food, get something to eat. imo

Work out how many calories you need with that level of exercise. And just eaaatttt.... Enjoy it man!

And maybe a weight gainer protein shake if you really struggle to hit the calories.
