Muay Thai in the USA

Inside the Fight to release the documentary: USA vs. Thailand

The first of four episodes of Inside the Fight documenting the full effect of Thai Boxing in the USA will be released January 28, 2012.

Los Angeles, CA January 28, 2012
Thai boxing and its surrounding lifestyle and culture now have a media outlet that provides audiences an opportunity to see professional Thai Boxers in a new light. The producers of Inside the Fight have devoted countless hours to producing a high quality documentary for the fans of the sport, and to create awareness for Thai Boxing as a whole.

Directed and produced by Jeff Dojillo and his team, Inside the Fight: USA vs. Thailand will cover Team USA - Joe Schilling, Kevin Ross, Romie Adanza and Team Thailand - Saketdao Petpayatai, Kaoklai Kaennorsing, Langsuanlek Sasiprapa. With special guests that include: Paulo Tocha (Bloodsport) and Thakuun Sasiprapa.

The documentary discusses the ongoing issue of Thai Boxing in America and its effects on the growth of the sport.
The first trailer gives us a teaser into what Thai Boxing is here in the USA and Thailand. Spotlighting the fighters from both countries, the trailer was released during the end of December. It can be seen here.
Trailer two gets even better, as it shows some of the training and preparation needed for Thai Boxing matches. The American Fighters as well as the Thai Fighters are both focused on the task at hand and are ready for war in the ring.

Look closely and pay attention, you might see Jongsanan ‘The Wooden Man’ Fairtex somewhere in the teaser as well.

“As soon as it (Thai Boxing) hits the mainstream,” Joe Schilling said, “It’s over.” In recent years the explosion of Thai boxing in the United States has developed a following that many can no longer overlook. Currently, Inside the Fight is the only one of its kind to follow and document fighters both domestically and internationally for the Thai Boxing community.

Inside the Fight started as an Internet video documentary series focused on United States Thai Boxers. It has generated thousands of views worldwide in a short span of time, and its creators are striving to take it from the Internet to mainstream television.

Recently, Jeff Dojillo has stated, “I want to start a fire for the Thai Boxing community, and throughout the entire culture.” With all of the hype surrounding the sport, Jeff and his team are looking forward to documenting fighters and events throughout the globe.

American Muay Thai, Bullshit!

I have decided to start a blog dedicated to the role of emotions and the mind in peoples lives, in fighting and how psychology can help you as a fighter and a person to reach your top.

However, my first post immediately is an exception because my American friends always ask me about the difference between European and American Muay Thai. Read it and weep!
