Ok, first, I'm not sure how many of you will see this as big news. Also I'm not sure if this is in the right section either. But here we go.

Left my house last night witht the aim to buy a newspaper. T'was after midnight. I always buy the Independent newspaper because its not a tabloid and it isn't owned by Rupert Freaking Murdoch. Anyway, I flick to the sport pages and I see an article on Gary Cook. Well, thats what the headline said anyway. Gary Cook was a former exec at Manchester City football club and now works for the UFC. A two page spread was dedicated to inform readers on the UFC! AMAZING. I have NEVER seen the UFC even mentioned in any of our newspapers. None. And now its mentioned in the sport section. When I frist read it i was almost overwhelmed and a little drunk! :D

It was like seeing my son take his first steps, or ride a bike for the first time. Hopefully we're gonna see more exposure for the UFC in British newspapers from now on.

Also, Paul Sass has been training with Ricky Hatton with view to improve his boxing.

Heres the link.

Yesterday was a landmark day for me. So Happy! I've even put the article on my wall at home! :)

Its the only way. They actually report the news too! Remember seeing the front page of the Sun the other day, the main headline, the most important news in the world going on that day was a man shaved his ex-girlfriends poodle. Funny. But not news.

The more exposure the better! That is pretty awesome that it made the paper over there!
Oh yeah Im excited. For years I've been hoping to see at least a little mention of MMA in a newspaper or on TV but I just hasn't happened. If it was going to be any newspaper, it would have been the Independent. It was all positive press too! They mentioned how Michael Bisping out sells Amir Khan and how more and more people are switching on. They said that the UFC is just one major TV deal away from really exploding over here. The only way thats gonna happen is if its broadcast by the BBC or Sky Sports. Good times! :)

Bringing Gary Cook onboard really was a master-stroke.

MMA in the UK is very healthy and has been for many years; look at the amount of good shows, gyms and fighters we have, the problem has always been the media and the old farts that run it.

Gary Cook is very well respected and is often credited with an important role in getting the Arab owners to buy Man City; him talking about MMA and the UFC will seriously help legitimise the sport, and once the media catch on that there is some money to be made MMA will be the flavour of the month.

The Daily Star has an article in the sports section. I don't bother reading about it tho because it's aload of crap. I remember reading it a while ago, I was reading about Anderson Silva and it had a picture of Rampage Jackson.
