Training with a rib injury???

Well I injured my rib last week while grappling. I heard something pop and then had a ton of pain. I've been dealing with it since last week but it is getting worse. When I do my Muay Thai I'm fine but after and during grappling practice it totally kills. Whenever I'm on my back and someone is on top is when it hurts the most. Now after my training it's even worse. What do you recommend for training thru this injury? Should I just avoid grappling practice for the next few weeks until it heals? Should I just keep it wrapped tight and ignore the pain? I want to be smart about this so it heals quickly. I starting taking Ibuprofin to see if that will help with the inflamation and pain.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Pete

I had a similiar injury a few years ago when I was racing and it was broken. The doctor said there is nothing you can really do besides let it heal. I've been keeping it wrapped which seems to be helping. I think I'm going to take a week or 2 off from grappling and just focus on Muay Thai and weight lifting. Hopefully it will heal by then.

Go get it checked out. Even if it isn't broken or cracked, even just getting one out of place on your spine is something that's not just painful, it will get worse and worse as it rubs on the bone.

If I get an injury that's more than just a small thing, I go see a doctor, and I rest. I'd rather get the healing over as quick as I can, so I can get back to full speed as soon as I can, than drag it out forever.
