I really like Amir's fighting style, and I'm looking forward to hear who his next opponent will be and when it will take place.

For the possible competition I eliminated any of the "ranked" Middleweights, since it would only be Amir's second pro fight:

Jason Day is fresh off a loss to Bisping in June

Kendall Grove just won a SD against Tanner in June

Thales Leites may very well be ranked (not sure) due to his SD over Marquardt in June

Dean Lister got a 1st round sub over Horn in June

Charles McCarthy is also off a loss to Bisping in April

Alessio Sakara is a TKO machine: loss/win/loss/win/loss

Pete Sell is still listed as a UFC fighter, but he hasn't fought in over a year by the time the fight would happen. Retired?

So, what does the forum think? Who should be the opponent? Is anyone else looking forward to seeing Amir fight again?

He's fighting on the next UFN

Lister and Leites are supposed to fight eachother.

McCarthy is retired.

Sell has been released by the UFC if I remember correctly

#1 The shouldn't give him Leites or Lister those guys are horrible match ups for Amir.

I would like to see him face someone who will try and bang with hiim on the feet.

If he stays at 185 than Sakara if he drops to 170 Paul Taylor.

Amir has a pretty good ground game but he would get wrecked by Lister and Leites who are both world class down there.

Amirs way to small for 185 IMO. A lot of the guys on the show were which is usually the way with TUF as they have so little time to make weight.

I like the Paul Taylor idea, he's pretty well known after nearly KOing Marcus Davis and is about the right level for Amirs first fight cos IMO Amirs is still very much a work in progress.

I think Taylor could give Amir trouble on the feet cos he's got some of the best striking at 170 IMO so it would be a good stand up war but still not a major risky fight for a TUF winner con Taylors ground game's pretty horrible TBH.

I just hope the UFC don't throw Amir in at the deep end too soon. He's not a veteran like Danzig was when he won the show. What I see with Amir is just a huge bag of potential and I hope the UFC don't cut him after a loss or two if he gets thrown in with tough opponents.

If he moves down Paul Taylor or Jess Liaudin are pretty much the perfect match ups. Casual viewers have some fimilarity with who they are so it isn't gonna be 'whose the dude?'

At 185 I'd toss him in there with Alan Belcher. Belcher will stand with him, and I think Amir would finish him there. Would be a good fight to.

Liaudin is facing Bielkheden at 155 at UFC 89

Feeding a lamb to the wolves. Hey bud, on your second professional fight, you can fight a top 20 MW. Damn that sucks.

Anyways, he's supposedly moving down to WW. That would be good anyways because he was fighting much bigger opponents.

I wonder what I would do though if they put Amir against my boy Cummo :confused::(:confused:

Paul Taylor would be a good fight for Amir but I believe Taylor is fighting Lytle soon.

Maybe Josh Burkman? That fight would make sense if Amir dropped down to 170. I could see him winning it as well.

Just so everyone knows sense these two fighters have come up. Burkman is fighting Pete Sell at 170 so they are out of the option.
