Relogging in problems

Ok, a bit pissed off as I typed a really long message in a UFC thread and it made me log in - again. But when I did log in the screen just went white. Tried to go back and all but it says 'page expired'. This is really irritating and it's not the first time this has happened. You lot need to come up with a way to sort that out because now i'm a bit put off with contributing fully.

Happened to me once, very frustrating.

Since then I 'Ctrl+C' my posts very often before submitting them (when they're long). Or I click on 'Preview Post' every few minutes so I don't get logged off.

We should extend the site's session time imo, it's way too short right now.

yeah usually ill go talk on the phone with my girlfriend or im playing some call of duty, but by the time im come back (which is roughly always 5 to 10 minutes) MMAForum logs me off.

Idk why it should be a 5-10 minute interval, usually people have other small things that occupy their time and are more urgent =/

Yeah it's always kinda annoyed me but it's one of those things you get used to over time I guess.

Might not be up to us to extend it though. If the forum is hosted on a shared server (which I think it is) then usually you cant decide these things. I'll bring it up to TBF and the other admins and see what we can do about it.

Another solution for now would be to tick the 'remember me' box before your next log-in so that you get automatically logged in every time you browse the forum.

I believe this'd solve your problem for now TDK but try to copy your message very often before posting too.

Yeah, guess I will have to do that from now on. Thanks for the suggestion mate. Glad to know i'm not the only one frustrated by this.

You need to click the box when you log in that says "remember me" to avoid this problem.

Taking a long time to submit a post and getting logged out isn't exactly a reflection of the forums inability to keep up with you, it is the fact that the same page stayed loaded on your computer and your computer either began to go to sleep or the amount of time exceeded your visit per your browsing allotment settings.

If you click the box to stay logged in you will have to manually log out or erase all of your history to get logged out.

I used to have this problem on my other pc. it was explained to me that it could be a result of my wireless connection. I have not been logged out on my new once yet, and I am using a different wireless connection than I was on my other pc. I also made sure to click the remember me box at log in. Every time I make a long post, I control + c it, just in case a log out occurs.
