Im glad that the fight got stopped when it did. It may have been a little early, but I def prefer an early stoppage over seeing Goodridge taking tweenty vicious unanswered shots to the head before the ref has a chance to step in.
Either way he was going to lose. It was either right there and then, or right there and 20 seconds later. atleast in this case he can still full function his face.
Gary Goodridge OMG! hes still fighting? and losing? Id really like to see mousasi fight some UFC LHWs like Shogun for example. I think we would see that he is slightly overrated right now.

Im not one to really get angry about posts. But this post made me mad TBH. Gegard Mousasi is not the least bit overrated, infact if he went to the UFC I am extremely confident he would clean that division easily. With his only two tests being Loyoto and Shogun.
Wow. I could keep going but I don't really want to waste my time. Go watch Mousasi's career fights, tell me one fight he didn't DOMINATE and I will give you props
I don't know what to think about Mousasi, when he came into Strikeforce I thought he was a little over hyped and thought Babalu would be a real good test to see if he deserved the hype, well I never in a million years expected a complete domination like the one Mousasi put on in that fight. Then his next fight against Sokky though I expected a complete domination in what turned out to be a competitive back and forth fight, infact I think I even scored the first round for Sokky.(its a long time Im not sure). Im pretty sure Mousasi could be competitive but Im not sure if he has what it takes to run with the bulls of the UFC LHW divsision like Rashad and Rampage yet.
Sokky came in looking better than he ever had. Henderson said he trained harder for that fight than any other fight in his career... and this is a guy who beat Lil Nog and Ricardo Arona. Soko gave it his all and he wasn't even able to damage Mousasi, he was just able to reverse a take-down and lay on him for a few seconds.
If you're unsure of what to think of Mousasi... just watch the way he put Babalu on queer street, then watch how he KO'd Jacare, how quickly he submitted Kang (a BJJ black belt), how quickly he tooled Manhoef, how he crushed Hector Lombard (Lombard is 22-2), how he put Cyborg Santos away faster than Shogun could, how he was able to take-down a Judo black belt while on his BACK (vs Soko).
I guess when Mousasi puts Hendo away like he's never been put away before it'll help your opinion of him.
This fight is a beat down... 1st round is so one sided besides like 1.5 throws that do no damage and lead no where. Those are completely negated by the awesomeness of the trip 4:55 into the first round anyway.
He's already 28-2 and he's only 24. He's fairly young, full of talent and training with Fedor. He still has lots of time and probably head over to UFC sometime soon.
Exactly! I think ppl tend to forget his very very young age. He has a brilliant future ahead of him and definitely all the tools to be the p4p best in a couple of years from now. And yes he will be in the UFC someday and will make his way to the top! I am 100% sure he can do it if he stays healthy.
I see both sides of the argument for sure. But honestly, on a scale of 1-100, Mousasi's potential is at 110. The guy is too fast, too disciplined, and too skilled to not eventually (if he hasn't already) reach the same level as top flight UFC talent.
Nice win, I like his style, he's like a young Fedor stylewise.
