"I believe it's a very winnable fight for me, though. I know Wanderlei's a legend but I truly believe styles make fights and that I've got the perfect style to beat him. Obviously I'm going to have to be wary of his aggressive style and his punch power, but I'm very confident of going to Australia and beating Wanderlei. He's experienced and possesses heavy hands but, other than, I feel I'm way better than him. I know I have the ability to beat him – it's now just about executing my game plan on the night…"
Michael Bisping scribbles in his online diary for The Daily Telegraph about his pending middleweight clash with Wanderlei Silva at UFC 110 from the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia, on Feb. 21. "The Count" was able to rebound from a comatose performance against the exiled Dan Henderson at UFC 100 to stop Denis Kang at UFC 105 last November. Pundits believed the Hendo loss put a serious dent in Bisping's credibility as a 185-pound title contender. Would a highlight reel finish over "The Axe Murderer" change their minds? Or yours?
Umm... Bisping's style is pretty much worst possible in beating Wandy. A skilled, aggressive and strong striker like Wandy is nightmare matchup to a guy who lacks KO power. Sure Bisping might win 1-2 runs with his hit&run circling, but eventually he'll get sent to lalaland.
Im a big Wandy fan, but I think Bisping has a decent chance.
I dont think he will repeat the 'circle the wrong direction, towards his opponents power' strategy.
Assuming that to be the case, he can remain elusive and stay outside of the pocket and bruise up Wandy's mug enough for 2 rounds... then in the 3rd, step in, do damage, then get out quickly.
The problem with Wandy is that he has gotten really flat footed, he's not as nimble as he used to be.
That said, I still hope Wandy lures him in and drops him like he did Jardine
The only thing I'd add is that Bisping is also capable of TDing Wandy and work his GnP if things get 'rough' standing up. He showed in his last fight that his TDs + GnP were pretty decent.
Really don't see why Bisping should shut it? He said nothing wrong at all this time. He's blogging about an upcoming fight and how he feels he has the potential to win it. If he didn't have that view point I doubt he'd even be a fighter.
He also said what he has to beware of and what Wandy brings to the table. He showed no disrepect and people are already jumping on him. Shocking.
The title of this thread is horrible. Bisping is not being big headed in what he says there at all. He simply said if his gameplan comes off he will win.

It's not from the article Bisping wrote though. It's the title of the article MMAMANIA wrote which featured a quote from Bisping. The link to Bispings article at the daily telegraph is not titled the way Mania have made it look.
Bisping did not write 'Dear Diary: Dear Diary: I'm way better than Wanderlei Silva! Signed, Michael Bisping '
I like mmamania as a site, it's actually my favourite mma site around but the title of their article is very misleading.
Sorry to go offtopic, but I need to say it.
Why do everytime I hear a comment from a british guy, like "I hate Bisping/Hardy/Daley/any brit", they usualy end with "and I'm a brit"? Just becouse you were accidently born in the same drawn spot in the map, means you have to like him, and if you don't it makes the guy even worse? Cmon, I don't like most of the people in my country. :confused05:
I post that Im a Brit cuz in the past I have posted news on Bisping nd people jump all over me....Basically I stated it because I want to make clear there was no bias.....as I then went on to say I think he should shut up and fight....and I say that not because of the title, just because.....win then talk is all Im sayin....Sure he should be confident but sometimes silence is deafening.....
Would you rather he said; "Wanderlei is far better than me"?! The guy is showing confidence and said nothing to disrespect silva, pretty much like he did nothing to disrespect Hendo either.
Im great fans of both fighters, dunno who to support. I dont wanna see Bisping KO'd but at the same time i want to see Wanderlei climb back up the UFC ladder. :confused02:
I actually somewhat agree with the overrated douche on this. His style is a horrible matchup for anybody that rushes in attacking. But Michael is not way better than anybody. He is way more overrated than Wandy but not better by any means. He just has a good style for Silva, that's it.
really trying to sell Bisping as the villian it seems. That title is awful and a discredit to what Bisping is really saying, he makes some good points and seems respectful. His win over Kang was impressive as was his GnP, if Wandy isnt worried about that he better start being.

Good point. I think Dana is doing the same mistake filling UK cards with UK fighters thinking those are the guys everyone in UK comes to see. In a sport like MMA I couldn't care less where someone is from, what race he is and what language he is if he puts up great fights.
Am I the only one that doesn't have a problem with anything Mike said there? He's just saying that he believes he's going to beat Wanderlei Silva, his next opponent. I'd be pretty worried if he was coming out and not saying that. He's not been at all disrespectful to Wandy, and is just declaring that he thinks he'll win the fight, as he believes he's the better fighter. Just called self confidence, pretty pivotal character trait to possess if you're a top level Mixed Martial Artist I'd say. Could have worded the "I feel I'm way better than him." sentence better though tbf. Still don't think it's disrespectful though, just looks like bad wording AFAIC. Man people hate Bisping...

I'm personally hoping Wanderlei pulls off a victory. His career could possibly come to an end if he loses to Bisping, as he'll be 1-6 in his last 7, which really isn't good for his career. So I'm hoping to see Wandy come back and take a decision victory in a war of a fight. I don't wanna see Bisping KTFO, as I like the guy, but I'm happy to see him drop a tight decision in a real good fight, just so it keeps Wandy going.
Don't see the disrespect there, the quote's a little misleading. I think Wandy will take this, but Bisping might be able to Leban him. Look for Wandy to be very aggressive knowing Bisping doesn't have knockout power.
I like Bispings chances against Sliva, I have thought for a while that W.Silva has took one to many beatings now and I believe he is one fighter in serious danger of permanent damage if he continues to fight, I dont see Silva as a serious title contender any more, instead just see him as a showcase fighter.
Yeah I don't really see an issue with what he said. He's just being confident going into his next fight. If he was running his mouth saying Wand was never good to begin with or something like that then I could understand folks having harsh words for him. You guys go easy on him. He's gonna be taking another mat nap real soon. :thumb02:
rich had trouble against wandy and barley beat him and bisping thinks he is going to run right through him. what a cocky bastard. And when I call him a f*g I don't mean cigaret.

Should be an interesting fight. I do believe that Bisping has the ability to stick and move, and essentially out-point Silva for three rounds, but I'm also more than aware that Silva has one punch KO power, as well as a definitive killer instinct. Wand is going to want to push the pace, and it should be interesting to see how Bisping reacts. Looking forward to this one, and my gut says Silva by KO.
