Lutter was guaranteed a title shot for winning TUF. He didn't make weight and so it wasn't a title fight, does he still deserve the title shot that was guaranteed to him?

I think that the "Title Shot" involves just that, A shot at winning the title. Including the making weight. The shot at the title would have begun with his training. If he hadn't of trained, it wasn't the UFC's fault. He did train. The next step would have been making weight. He didn't. That's not the UFC's fault either. The UFC had no control over the action of Travis Lutter. Further, if he could manipulate the rules to get a title shot like that, he could not make weight for months and months, until he finally felt he was ready and then take his shot when it's convinent for him.

depends whats on the contract. if it says he gets a title shot then i guess he is legally entitled to one. but i doubt it says which title, so wait for anyone other than big Tim to have the Heavyweight title and let him fight for that one.

lutter shouldnt even be allowed in the UFC.. i think he is a complete retard, who enjoys making every fight boring by taking down people, then sitting on them for all three rounds.. i was hoping Silva would have thrown a flying knee to kick.. and when he did for a second i was so happy...but then only to miss..but w/e he still kicked his ass.

Part of the chance was fighting within the rules and he broke the rules thus nullifying his title shot. He knew what was expected of him and he did not make weight...get to the end of the line, NEXT!

I agree with everybody on this forum. Part of his title shot was making weight. He was 1.5 pound over 185. Since he couldn't fulfill that part and lost his chance. So the UFC should stop worrying about Lutter's title shot and move on to Nate "The Great."

ABSOLUTELY NOT. he had a CHANCE at the title, he ****ed it up by not making weight, if he wants another chance he'll have to fight his way to the top.

hahha i love the hate on lutter.. he might be on my most hated fighters. .( sylvia still defintly #1, and hughes #2) hes the BORINGEST fighter.. his fights on TUF made my want to smash my t.v.. he sat on people for 3 rounds.. its horrible. i gotta give props to Silva for kicking his ass with knee surgeries and shit.. but i kinda wish he woulda broke lutters nose as well...i just have a strong hate for lutters figthing style.. just like the guy that beat heath hedger... i wish that guy gets a flying knee to the balls... well i guess its not flying then.. but hes boring as well.. he sat on "Crazy Horse" for 3 rounds.. i could tell heath was pissed cuz hes a banger, and that dudes what i like to call a "Sitter" or " a Smother" if ur gonna take somne down, ground and pound. not sit and wait. Lutter doesnt even deserve King Of The Cage.. he should be fighting on " So you think you can fight?" cuz he seems to be the only one who thinks he can..
