Print E–mail Share ThisReport Error TORONTO - Georges St-Pierre's welterweight title defence at UFC 111 will be aired in three dozen Canadian cinemas, Cineplex and the UFC announced Tuesday.

The March 27 show in Newark, N.J., will be shown in high-definition on the big screen in select locations in Alberta, B.C., Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan.

General admission tickets will cost $19.95 plus taxes.

St-Pierre, a mixed martial arts champion from Montreal, takes on England's Dan (The Outlaw) Hardy in the main event at the Prudential Centre.

The UFC announced last month that UFC 111 would be aired in more than 300 theatres south of the border.

UFC 111 marks the first time the UFC has opted to show a pay-per-view card in theatres nationwide in the U.S. and parts of Canada.

Well its not sooo bad if u have no one to pitch in on a PPV, and even if u do, u get to see it on a master size Screen...

Unless of coarse ur screen at home is near the same size with surround sound, then NVM! lol

what a waste of money, by the time your done for the night, you would probably blow more then what the PPV cost would be. pay for achohol if they sell, and food... all that shit is mad expensive in theaters. I would rather sit at home and watch it on my 50" and split the cost of everything

Yeah i see your points, but i still think its nice that its out there if u want it...

Im VERY curious to see how much cooler it is with a MONSTER Screen, and Thumping surround sound... Ill seriously *BROB* in my Girl Friends purse when i do go.

But if i go to see the Machida/Shogun rematch for example and some idiot is cheering for Shogun, ill probably miss the fight by attacking the dude after he cheers when Machida gets hit...... (If he gets Hit) :)

Where is is awesome for my crew is that many/most of us have families and little ones where we don't want to have UFC parties at our house. We could go to the bar but since our theatre has a bar... Big screen, awesome sound, and comfortable seating!!

The fight's premiering at a local mall here, I believe the price is an even 20 as well. I guess it's a little pricey, but I'm in college and we can't purchase the fight on their cable.. kinda sucks, seeing as how I've got a 72" projector in the room. So it looks like going to the theatre is my best bet! Not many MMA fans up at school that I know of anyway, so I'd be paying $50 even if I could buy it. Anyways, gonna be a great fight; I'm a big GSP and Frank Mir fan, and Thiago Alves is an entertaining fighter to watch. Cheers, and I hope everyone gets to see the fight one way or another!
