I can't remember the names of the guys in the first fight, but to me it didn't look like that second knee hit him in the head. It looked like it hit his hand and he wanted an easy win.
I wouldn't say that it was the ref's decision on his and he looked like he had no idea where he was.
cant really see if the knee hit or not but all i saw was his head jerk back violently which makes me believe it does. I Dont think the knee was intentional either i think it bounced off and hit him.
Why should he continue the dumbass cheated if it landed. Don't fight with reckless abandon towards the rules if you don't want DQed. You shouldn't blame the victim in situations like this he was respecting the rules the other guy wasn't.
Yeah, that's not a fighters mindset at all. That's a very cowardly way out, if you can recover and keep fighting you do, you don't take a seat and get the other guy DQ'd. Get up and prove you're better, it's a bitch move to not fight.
You know I think it landed and I think people get a hard time in situations like this. To many times guys continue when they are not really in a condition to do so and end up losing. When your life goal is on the line you can`t let pride blind you.
It was two knees in a row, so it looked like it was completely intentional. As far I could tell it looked like it connected. If the guy could have fought on, I'm sure he would have. But either way you look at it from his perspective he caught an illegal knee and his hand was broke and he knew either way he wasn't going to win if he continued. If he imbellished his injuries it was probably a smart move on his part.
Perhaps he could´ve got up. Be if he felt even slightly dazzed by the 2nd knew he did the right thing in not getting up.
As mentioned above, some fighters end up loosing fights because of that "get up and fight like a man" bs, when they obviosly are not fully aware of their senses.
Take your five minutes then and try to get yourself composed. It only makes me mad when the guy could get up and fight and be the same fighter and he chooses not to. Taking a win when you could earn it is what I think is pathetic. If you can't fight anymore, then obviously I don't want a fighter risking his health to continue fighting.
At first I didn't think he b*tched out because he was dominating the fight but when I found out that he hurt his hand, that might be the reason he used that as an excuse to end the fight. He pointed out his hand right away when they were looking at him. Either way, it was an illegal knee and it was the right call.
The first hit his chest, the second one looked like it missed by a good three inches or more. Guido dude is now a tool IMO for pulling a ******* stunt like that. I really wish they would've went back to the tape and saw what happened because they show it right after the fight. It looks like it might've hit his arm but it was nowhere NEAR the dude's head.
I thought it hit him in the head. We would need a different view to be sure. I think the ref made the right call. It's the other guys fault for throwing knees when he was down. Also, if he didn't get hit in the head, he might have acted like he did because he broke his hand.
1.) If the Knee hit the guy in the head, he at that point now has an unfair disadvantage. It it wrong when people hate on the victim and not the guilty in these situations. it is the fighters fault for not showing restraint to follow the rules, and if he did not know the rules he should not be in the cage. The fighter took the chance of the match being DQ'ed when he threw knees recklessly, and only has himself to blame. I actually lost respect for him for yelling at teh guy to get up in fight when he was the one that just broke a rule and should be yelling at himself first.
2.) The fighter that got kneed did not quit or say he could not fight lets get that straight though. He was asked if he knew where he was and he replied I am in a cage fighting, the doctor and ref both looked at his eyes when he replied and they determined that the fighter was not in a condition to fight, not by the fighters wanting to have the fight over but by their knowledge of their chosen profession.
3.) On TUF they tend to baby the fighters, sense the fighters will be fighting allot sooner again then what a normal mma fighter will be after their match they tend to not let fighters take allot of damage before they call a fight. Example, the second fight, the guy that was getting punched had his head covered and every punch that afro puff was throwing at the guy hit his arms, not a single punch landed at the other guys head/face that i saw. After a couple punches all landing at the guys arms the ref called the fight, normally in a regular MMA match they would have let that fight continue longer at least tell a shot actually hit the guy in the head.
As much as we dont want to admit it sometimes MMA is a sport first and a fight second, sometimes I see members on here forget that.

It was hard to see in the replay exactly what happened because of the angle so ya'll can keep speculating. But the Dr obviously saw something in his eyes that showed he couldn't continue. Maybe he was just exhausted and looked dazed or whatever but it was the DR's CALL AND NOT THE FIGHTER!!!
I dunno, the angle i saw on the replay clearly shows the 2nd knee missed completely... and its the fighters call, not the doctors call, he was hamming it up so the ref would bring in the doctor, he knew his hand was busted and didn't want to continue simple as that.
and to whoever says you don't get 5min for an illegal strike to the head, what about the Kos vs Rumble fight, they both hit each other with illegal shots and got 5min. Kos got hit with an illegal knee and the doctor had nothing to do with him continuing either!
Same story as the Varner fight Guy gets his hand broken, and sees a chance to get out of it all on a technicality. No harm, no foul really, but fans will remember things like this.
Thats the thing it could have been seen as spiking and I bet if he would started hamming it up and flopping around on the matt they would have treated it the same way...I hate to say that this portion of mma is starting to be a lil like soccer
When I saw the previews for this weeks show last week i thought the same thing, but after seeing how it went down in the fight he didn't land on the top of his head, the way it has been explained to me before all my fights is basically "no dropping/slamming someone straight down on the top of the head, wwe piledriver style" his hands where free to break his fall and he landed on his neck/upper back, not to mention Mr. Rosenthal was right literally ontop of the action going on.
If i got my face even clipped by a knee sitting on my ass, with no real protection, id die, Guido just happened to be man enough to just lose conciousness for a few. Ya i think he hit him. If he didnt, then Guido is the best damn actor iv ever seen, pro-wrestlers with years of experience cant sell that well.
First knee was to the body. Second knee missed. Looked really obvious in the replay. As someone pointed out, the guys head didn't move on the second knee (if one needs more proof that it didn't land). He was probably gassed and took the easy way out. Now, as far as I know, a knee to the chest is not illegal - just to the head of a downed opponent. The phantom knee to the head didn't happen so all the ref should have said is, "watch where you are kneeing."
it's pretty obvious on the slo mo replay the 2nd knee missed.
i gotta say wonderful comeback by Kyacey, had all the makings of a great bruiser v technician battle, and shows that his experience did come into play.
So after the fight is over and they see the knee did not connect...(just for arguments sake)....whats next his hand is broke and they saw that the knee didnt connect soooo what will they do with Uscola? Even tho his nose looked a little effed up .....Do they bring in another fighter or what?
You can fight with a broken nose dude. It's not really a fight changing injury. You get that shit broke every time you get hit in the face moderately hard lol. Mines been broken and I didn't even get hit in the nose!
Unless your nose is broken like Lynch's was, that shit was gnarly.
