Just looking at the card without the Edgar/Maynard match, its far from something I feel personally is PPV worthy, I have seen better fight night cards to be fair, so I can't see this card selling well at all, so was just wondering who will be buying this card.

u need a couple of more options.

I will be going to the bar to watch, like I usualy do

Im going to the bar now because of the main event drop

I live in England where UFC is shown on ESPN(HD), and that comes with our Virgin Media package for TV which my parents pay so I never have to pay for a UFC ppv :)

That's a reason why I kinda don't want MMA to become too mainstream in the UK as it would probably end up on PPV :(

This card gets a bad rap and it is underrated, but still not worth buying. Rampage-Hammill is an interesting fight even if it isn't very relevant for a main event. Thiago-Story is a great fight that i think we all want to see, and Mir-Nelson is interesting as well even though it is irrelevant. Hell, we get to see Miguel Torres in the UFC, who doesnt want to see that!

I preferred it when we saw Miguel Torres was on free WEC events personally, hell him been on a UFC card does not make the fight any better to watch. since the merge the only difference is you now get the privilege of paying to watch Miguel Torres an all the the Bantamweight and Featherweight fights instead of more fights from the upper divisions, I hope you enjoy the upgrade

On a side Note, I thought the WEC/UFC merge was a bad thing from the moment I heard the new, and I will say right now since the merge no good has come from it what so ever, this has caused nothing at all but negative effect on the promotion as the quality is dropping.

Depth in all other divisions has fallen except for the LW division, the large majority of fighters in the UFC are seeing less action, the UFC is not hosting more shows to support the extra divisions so we have lost out on events from not having the events the WEC was hosting. This Merge is the worse thing the UFC has ever done, and as the depth continues to fall I think its only getting worse, cards like show that the UFC is a becoming more a second rate promotion.

yeah i mean i cant believe that these FWs and BWs are now going to get paid well and have enough money for great training camps so they can fight at their potential

this sucks, they dont deserve more recognition or money:thumbsdown:

you call urself a fan and yet cant support these FWs and BWs that you love? you can always just download the ppv, hell you can download it in HD for free

Well that has not been the case has it, tell that to Mark Hominick $5000 for his title fight with Aldo, the WEC had a fan base, TV contract and income, it sold tickets, it was specialized in supporting the lower weights, the fighters had sponsorships, so what you are saying is complete BullSh1t, they are all payed by the same pot anyway, the fact Zuffa choice to screw them like they screw most UFC fighters anyway is sad but they are no better off now than before.

In fact most of them will be worse off because they will get dropped all together, because without there own specialist promotion they wont get as mush air time to suport as big divisions, or relevant spaces on UFC cards which wont help there sponsorships.

What may help one or two big stars like Aldo, Cruz, Fabar will hurt the masses, and besides Zuffa could of chose to keep the WEC and just treat its stars better money wise anyway without the need to merge to the UFC, so what you are saying just does not support the facts of what is actually happening.

As for calling myself a fan and not supporting these divisions, I believe these divisions where getting far better support as the WEC been a specialist promotion dedicated to supporting them, than they will ever get in the UFC.

A for or final comment about downloading I subscribe to ESPN which is the only way to get UFC where I live.

Oh and I missed your point about the camps, and you claiming they will get better camps, they all where out of the same camps anyway, the UFC and WEC fighters where training out of the same camps long before the merge as do SF and even Bellator fighters, in fact I bet these camps have lots of other guys doing regional shows, so it will have fcuk all effect on where they train or how much.

absolutly not! i'd feel like i was getting robbed, the ufc shoulda found another main event or made it free. and i've bought every ufc card before....the ppv buys should be extremely low for this card i'm thinking.

woulda bought it with the edgar fight, which i was really excited for, but i'll probable go to a sports bar watch it now.

What the hell, what is not good about this card? This card will have a good dose of everything, it's got top fighters all the way through. At least 3 of the main card fights will produce high ranked contenders, and if Quinton wins his fight I 99% guarantee he'll be Jones' next opponent.

I reckon most of these fights will be very explosive.

most of the fights are very predictable and one sided, hammil should not be in a main event, he's only there cus thiago couldn't fight....the one fight i'm intrested in is mir/nelson. the card as a whole just isn't worth $55 dollars, with gas prices so high, doesn't mean i wont watch it though. lol

Quinton Jackson vs. Matt Hamill
Frank Mir vs. Roy Nelson
Thiago Alves vs. Rick Story
Stefan Struve vs. Travis Browne
Brian Stann vs. Jorge Santiago

Miguel Torres vs. Demetrious Johnson
Kendall Grove vs. Tim Boetsch

The main event may not be the greatest but to me this looks like a solid card with the potential for a lot of good fights. Some of the best cards I've seen in recent memory did not have a lot of "star billing".

Idk I may end up buying, or going to a bar to watch at the very least. What the card lacks in big names and title fights it makes up for with potential wars. All the PPV fights are evenly matched fights that should be fast paced, with the possible exception of Rampage v Hammill.

Another factor is that we haven't been able watch any Zuffa fights in a month. Thank God for Bellator.

Nah, I won't be buying it but that's not a huge surprise. I wasn't super stoked in the first place (despite there being some decent fights) and then the main event dropping off really killed it for me. I might swing by a bar and watch it 'cause I hate missing events entirely but it's up in the air.

i get just about every UFC event. cuz for me its not just watching the fights, if having people come over too and ordering pizza or cooking up some good party food and getting so drunk that most of the night ends up a blur.... $50 bucks a month for a good reason to party is fine by me.

No. And personally the UFC is screwing us more and more. Even though they are growing and making mass amounts of money...they have given us less and less.

Not too long ago I saw Hendo/Rampage title unification fight on free TV. I saw Anderson Silva on free TV. I saw stacked cards like UFC 92 and UFC 100. I saw Dana White say he would make it up to fans who bought that crap that was Maia-Silva at UFC 112.

Now, less meaningful fights for free. Cards that lose main events due to injury should become free cards on Spike somehow. Or they should stagger the price of these things. Keep the best cards where they are and perhaps this one for 39.95 instead of 54.95. Some of these cards are ridiculous to pay 55 bucks for. I hope this card does terrible on PPV so maybe they get a hint.

They have given paying fans less and less. While creating more and more PPV for us to buy up.

Oh well, I will just exercise my right not to buy it and find a decent stream for FREE.

It's one of the most exciting cards of the year, the only reason people are making such a fuss is because Rampage is fighting a wrestler and not a striker like originally planned, the funny thing is Hamill's better than Silva, but he won't mean mug Rampage and try to act like some badass.

As always I'll be buying, I can't miss any UFC, I'll for sure be watching this hoping Alves delivers.

#27 ·
lol I get every single event just a matter of will I watch it or not, and the answer is yep ofc I'll watch this card. Rampage, Alves, Roy Vs Mir, and the really tall guy Struve they all make it quite intresting and oh Stann vs Santiagio is quite an underrated fight too.

I voted #1 in the poll because it was closest to me. I don't get every ppv. I'm guilty of checking online before I pay for a tape delayed show and there was about a year and 1/2 when ufc was banned from cable and I didn't have access to satellite but, I have bought more than 100. I've even streamed a couple (you owe me Dana).

I'm starting to get excited for this one. We might be seeing Rampages retirement fight.

Alvez/Story could be foty.

Mir/ belly: somebody's getting fed to meathead after this one.

Brian Stann is going to destroy Santiago and be the guy everybody's talking about next week.
