Doesn't every American fighter usually get home 'turf' advantage for the most part in the UFC? Liddell never defended his belt outside of Vegas I think, was that really fair? If Brazil had the ability to host 3 or 4 events a year, I can bet Anderson would be on most if not all of them as well.

That being said, a more fair arguement would be the fans here don't really want to see a GSP main event again. It really isn't needed. They stack the undercard with Canadian fighters anyway.

There is a f*cking massive difference between Vegas and San Luis Obispo. Far more significant than the difference between Toronto and Montreal. Liddell is just not a good example.

Look at the scheduling. They schedule Montreal (and also almost all Canadian cards) to put GSP on them. You can count on 1 hand the number of Canadian events GSP has not been a part of (97, 113, 115, 131).
Actually the diffrence between Saint Isidore where GSP is from and Toronto vs San Luis Obispo to Vegas is about 50KM (30 Miles). Not exactly f*cking massive.

The discussion was about Montreal where its presented to the fans GSP is from, and Toronto. Compared to San Luis Obispo and Vegas. It was not a matter of geography (I assumed that was apparent, since this is not a geography forum). More a matter of population, fanbase, notoriety, etc. In that case there is a significant difference.

Nice shot! It's the funniest thing. You know you're in an MMA photo when you're posing with your fists. It's like a natural tendency...haha. I think if I ever take a pic with an MMA fighter I'll throw up an Aloha, thumbs up sign or the Thiago Silva cutting your throat gesture...lolz! Yes that would be epic!

If he wins, the world is officially over. But yea, I think it would be one step closer to the end of the Strikeforce promotion, one champ at a time.

Its an exciting match-up, but I doubt Diaz will look good against someone who chooses not to brawl with him.

The only thing Diaz has is a good offense when someone's back is against the cage, good height and size, a good chin and good recovery from being hurt.

If GSP can keep the fight in the middle of the octagon, or take Diaz down, there may not be anything Nick can do.. GSP could pick Diaz apart with his jab, and keep him guessing with his wrestling and takedowns.

I don't see Diaz winning this..

ive been a gsp fan for a long time, after meeting nick and even though he did not say much hes pretty cool, i asked him where his security was and he laughed hard, i like both fighters, he is a big dude, was a good end to my vegas trip, now that i think back there were so many questions i wanted to ask him, he shook my hand and im very happy to have met him, thanks nick for the pic! im going to print that and hang in my shop forever

Here’s what I don’t get. If Diaz is such a notorious weed smoker, how is it possible he is never busted after a fight?

You can still see THC after a month in your urin so, especially if you smoke all day like many think he does. So how does he pulls that of? Weed is longer in your system than almost any other drug or enhancer. I really don’t get it.

He probably stops smoking when he starts his camp for a fight. Not really sure how long these are, but I'm sure with all the sweating and drinking you could clear your system to a point where its at least obvious you haven't smoked in a while.

edit- I couldn't imagine you would still fail a sports drug test if you had minimal traces of THC in your system, or would you?
