Atsushi Sawada and Shinichi Suzukawa vs. Kazushi Sakuraba and Katsuyori Shibata (pro-wrestling match)
Josh Barnett vs. Hideki Suzuki (pro-wrestling match)
Jerome Le Banner vs. Tim Sylvia (pro-wrestling match)
A trio of bouts has been added to next month's year-end "DREAM: New Year! 2011" event.

In a featured bout, Hayato Sakurai (35-12-2 MMA, 4-4 DREAM) takes on fellow welterweight veteran Ryo Chonan (20-12 MMA, 1-0 DREAM).

Additionally, the final two rounds of this year's world bantamweight grand prix conclude with Bibiano Fernandes (9-3 MMA, 6-1 DREAM) vs. Rodolfo Marques Diniz (14-1 MMA, 1-0 DREAM) and Antonio Banuelos (19-7 MMA, 1-0 DREAM) vs. Masakazu Imanari (24-9-2 MMA, 4-2 DREAM).

The event takes place Dec. 31 at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. HDNet Fights CEO Andrew Simon told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the event will air on HDNet. However, it hasn't been decided if it'll air live or via delay.

Sakurai and Chonan first fought eight years ago at DEEP 12, where Chonan earned a TKO win due to a cut.

Sakurai, a former Shooto champ and PRIDE veteran, once was one of the sport's top fighters. Now, though, "Mach" is winless since April 2009 and stuck in a four-fight losing skid. The losses, which followed an 8-1 run, have come to notables Marius Zaromskis, Akihiro Gono, Nick Diaz and Jason High.

He looks to get back on track against Chonan, a former UFC and PRIDE fighter who also recently saw his career sputter. However, he's taken on some over-matched competition and is 3-1 in his past four fights, including a recent knockout of Shigetoshi Iwase and a decision win over Naoki Samukawa.

Fernandes, meanwhile, won his opening-round grand-prix bout via submission over Takafumi Otsuka. He looks for his ninth win in 10 fights when he takes on Diniz, who made a successful DREAM debut with an opening-round decision victory over Yusup Saadulaev. He's now won 11 consecutive fights.

Banuelos, a recent WEC and UFC fighter, earned a split-decision victory over Hideo Tokoro in the grand prix's opening round. He now meets Imanari, who looks for his fourth win in five fights (and ninth win in 11 fights) following an opening-round submission victory over Abel Cullum.

The winners of Fernandes vs. Diniz and Banuelos vs. Imanari will meet later in the night in the grand prix's finale.

Tim Sylvia vs. Brett Rogers Set For Dream NYE Show Despite Jail Sentence for Rogers

Two big men looking to recapture some old glory are apparently scheduled to meet in Dream on December 31st. And one of them will practically be going straight from a jail cell to a ring to do it. Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia is set to meet Brett Rogers. Heavy has the info:

Tim Sylvia and Brett Rogers will fight on Dream's New Year's Eve show at the Saitama Super Arena just north of Tokyo. Sources close to the negotiations on Wednesday confirmed the fight booking to Heavy.com. The fight has not yet been announced by Dream.

Yesterday, Rogers was sentenced to 60 days in jail after being convicted on felony third-degree assault charges, according to TwinCities.com. Rogers was given credit for 26 days already served, but will have to complete two-thirds of his sentence before being released. That means he'd get out on December 13th, leaving him just 18 days to train for the fight. His lawyer asked if Rogers could serve his term after the fight, but the judge denied that request. Rogers will also have to re-appear in court on January 19th for violating the conditions of his release.

Frankly, I'd be surprised if this bout actually happened. It's common knowledge that acquiring a visa to fight in Japan can be tough, especially for a man that's just coming out of jail. I'm sure Sylvia will compete that night. But Rogers? I wouldn't completely count on it.

Sylvia takes this. Rogers is a scrub...

Tim without a doubt is the better fighter, but Tim has a suspect chin and Rogers for all his lacks has power and a decent chin. Tim also has trouble if he can't use his reach to his fullest advantage (Tim will only be 3 inches taller). I'm calling the upset by Rogers first round 2nd minute by KO.

Sylvia will submit Rogers in the first round. For all the hate Tim gets he uses his length well and despite not having a huge reach advantage here he knows how to use it and his opponent is used to being the bigger guy and has no idea how to deal with it. Secondly Sylvia is a pretty competent grappler and Rogers is well, not. Timmy also fights to win and doesn't get stupid so he will work from the outside, clinch up and take Rogers down, when they get up it will be to announce the winner Tim The Mainnac Sylvia!!!

Fedor Emelianenko vs Satoshi Ishii announced for New Year's Eve fight in DREAM

Fedor Emelianenko is about to do something he hasn't done in nearly seven years.

"The Last Emperor," who slammed the brakes on a three-fight losing streak with a unanimous decision victory over Jeff Monson last month in Moscow, Russia, will compete for the fourth time this calendar year by taking on Olympic Judo gold medalist Satoshi Ishii on DREAM's upcoming New Year's Eve fight card on Dec. 31, 2011, at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

M-1 officials today confirmed the long-rumored booking, which we first reported back on Nov. 20.

"M-1 Global in cooperation with Dream is very pleased to announce the bout which will bring the world's attention to Japan on December 31. Fedor has been in great shape, and is ready for what we think will be a hard and competitive fight."

Can Fedor finish his 2011 fight campaign at an even 2-2? Or will Ishii finish the Russian's storied career where it began, in "The Land of the Rising Sun?"

Here is the current FieLDS 'Genki Desu Ka!!' fight card and line-up:

DREAM Bantamweight Grand Prix:

135 lbs.: Masakazu Imanari vs. Antonio Banuelos
135 lbs.: Winner of Fernandes-Marques vs. Winner of Imanari-Banuelos

Main Card:

Not just 'in the works' anymore:

Fedor Emelianenko (32-4) is returning to Japan.

A long-rumored bout between the former PRIDE heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist Satoshi Ishii (4-1-1) is expected to headline a New Year's Eve event in Japan featuring two DREAM title bouts and the completion of the DREAM bantamweight tournament.

Officials today announced the fight.

"DREAM: Fight for Japan: Genkidesuka!! Oomisoka!! 2011!" (also dubbed "DREAM: New Year! 2011") is set for Dec. 31 at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

While domestic broadcast plans have yet to be announced, the event airs live stateside on HDNet.

A rumored bouts between Tim Sylvia and Brett Rogers could not be confirmed at the time of this writing, nor could a previously reported women's bout between Megumi Fujii and Karla Benitez.

Although longtime sponsor Fields is expected to support the New Year's Eve event, it's not clear who is promoting it. According to a source, the official title of the promoter is "the executive committee of Genkidesuka!! Oomisoka!! 2011!" DREAM, though, obviously is playing a significant role, at least from a talent perspective.

As earlier reported, DREAM lightweight champion Shinya Aoki (29-5) will defend his title against former Sengoku champ Satoru Kitaoka (29-10-9). Aoki returns after a submission win over former WEC champ Rob McCullough at DREAM.17 in September, which marked his sixth consecutive win following a decision loss to Strikeforce champ Gilbert Melendez at the CBS-televised "Strikeforce: Nashville." Kitaoka enjoys a four-fight streak that includes a decision win over UFC vet Willamy Freire at DREAM.17.

Additionally, DREAM featherweight champ Hiroyuki Takaya (16-9-1) attempts to defend his title a second time when he meets Takeshi "Lion" Inoue (21-5). After falling short to Robbie Peralta in his U.S. debut at "Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley," Takaya got back on the winning track at "DREAM: Japan GP Final," where he outpointed Kazuyuki Miyata. Inoue, meanwhile, knocked out UFC vet Caol Uno in his most recent appearance at DREAM.17, which brought his current win streak to three.

The final two rounds of this year's world bantamweight grand prix conclude with Bibiano Fernandes (9-3 MMA, 6-1 DREAM) vs. Rodolfo Marques Diniz (14-1 MMA, 1-0 DREAM) and Antonio Banuelos (19-7 MMA, 1-0 DREAM) vs. Masakazu Imanari (24-9-2 MMA, 4-2 DREAM).

Fernandes won his opening-round grand-prix bout via submission over Takafumi Otsuka.

In a throwback to Japanese MMA events blending real and staged fights, a pro-wrestling match between PRIDE vet Kazuyuki Fujita and K-1 legend Peter Aerts will start the show.

The full card for "DREAM: Fight for Japan: Genkidesuka!! Oomisoka!! 2011!" includes:

Fedor Emelianenko vs. Satoshi Ishii
Champ Shinya Aoki vs. Satoru Kitaoka (for lightweight title)
Champ Hiroyuki Takaya vs. Takeshi "Lion" Inoue (for featherweight title)
Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Kazuyuki Miyata
Yuichiro Nagashima vs. Katsunori Kikuno (mixed-rules bout)
Rodolfo Marques Diniz vs. Bibiano Fernandes (bantamweight grand-prix semifinal)
Antonio Banuelos vs. Masakazu Imanari (bantamweight grand-prix semifinal)
Hideo Tokoro vs. Yusup Saadulaev (bantamweight grand-prix reserve match)
Ryo Chonan vs. Hayato Sakurai
Kazuyuki Fujita vs. Peter Aerts (pro-wrestling match)

Kazushi Sakuraba and Josh Barnett are going to ... wrestle... at the DREAM show:

The lineup for "DREAM: New Year! 2011" continues to fill, and former UFC legend Josh Barnett (31-5) and MMA legend Kazushi Sakuraba (26-16-1) are among the latest additions to the year-end event.

DREAM executives recently announced both notables will take part in pro-wrestling contests, with Barnett facing Hideki Suzuki while Sakuraba and Katsuyori Shibata take on Shinichi Suzukawa and Atsushi Sawada in a tag-team affair.

DREAM also added a pair of kickboxing contests to the card with Yuta Kubo vs. Nils Widlund and Masaaki Noiri vs. Kengo Sonoda.

The event, officially dubbed "DREAM: Fight for Japan: Genkidesuka!! Oomisoka!! 2011!," is set for Dec. 31 at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The event airs live in the early morning in North America on HDNet.

The 42-year-old Sakuraba, who was a professional wrestler prior to his mixed-martial-arts career, last competed in an MMA contest at September's DREAM.17 event, where he was submitted by Yan Cabral. It was the fourth-consecutive loss for the Japanese superstar, who was dubbed "The Gracie Hunter" during his glory days for wins over Gracie family members Royce, Renzo, Royler and Ryan.

Meanwhile, Barnett will keep himself busy while waiting on Strikeforce brass to officially announce the date for his Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix final contest with Daniel Cormier. Barnett punched his ticket to the finals with Strikeforce wins over Sergei Kharitonov and Brett Rogers.

With the additions to the card, the "DREAM: New Year! 2011" lineup now includes:

Fedor Emelianenko vs. Satoshi Ishii
Ryo Chonan vs. Hayato "Mach" Sakurai
Champ Shinya Aoki vs. Satoru Kitaoka (for lightweight title)
Yuichiro Nagashima vs. Katsunori Kikuno (mixed-rules bout)
Champ Hiroyuki Takaya vs. Takeshi "Lion" Inoue (for featherweight title)
Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Kazuyuki Miyata
Rodolfo Marques Diniz vs. Bibiano Fernandes (bantamweight grand-prix semifinal)
Antonio Banuelos vs. Masakazu Imanari (bantamweight grand-prix semifinal)
Hideo Tokoro vs. Yusup Saadulaev (bantamweight grand-prix reserve match)
Karla Benitez vs. Megumi Fujii
Kazuyuki Fujita vs. Peter Aerts (pro-wrestling match)
Atsushi Sawada and Shinichi Suzukawa vs. Kazushi Sakuraba and Katsuyori Shibata (pro-wrestling match)
Josh Barnett vs. Hideki Suzuki (pro-wrestling match)
Yuta Kubo vs. Nils Widlund (kickboxing match)
Masaaki Noiri vs. Kengo Sonoda (kickboxing match)

This is the latest crazy addition:

Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia will face Jerome Le Banner in Japan.

DREAM officials recently announced the matchup for the year-ending "DREAM: New Year! 2011" event, but there's a catch: Sylvia and Le Banner won't meet in an MMA contest but rather a professional wrestling bout.

Headlined by a heavyweight matchup between Fedor Emelianenko and Satoshi Ishii, "DREAM: New Year! 2011" airs live in North America at 1 a.m. ET on Saturday morning, Dec. 31 (10 p.m. PT Friday evening, Dec. 30).

Officially dubbed "DREAM: Fight for Japan: Genkidesuka!! Oomisoka!! 2011!," the card features MMA bouts, kickboxing contests and three additional professional wrestling matches. The festivities take place at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

Due to the length of the show, the live broadcast will be the only time HDNet airs the fight card in its entirety. Future airings of the event will be broken up into smaller specials.

Sylvia was originally expected to face Brett Rogers at "DREAM: New Year! 2011" in actual MMA bout, but "The Grim" had difficulties obtaining a visa for the contest and was forced to withdraw. Sylvia, who is 6-1 in his past seven real fights, made his professional-wrestling debut in September 2010, facing Josh Barnett in a match for the Inoki Genome Federation, the same promotion overseeing the wrestling bouts on the DREAM card.

Le Banner, a French striking legend who made his mark as a professional kickboxer, also has experience as a professional boxer and mixed-martial-artist. Le Banner fought MMA most recently in a New Year's Eve loss to Satoshi Ishii one year ago.

With the addition to the card, the "DREAM: New Year! 2011" lineup now includes:

Fedor Emelianenko vs. Satoshi Ishii
Ryo Chonan vs. Hayato "Mach" Sakurai
Champ Shinya Aoki vs. Satoru Kitaoka (for lightweight title)
Yuichiro Nagashima vs. Katsunori Kikuno (mixed-rules bout)
Champ Hiroyuki Takaya vs. Takeshi "Lion" Inoue (for featherweight title)
Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Kazuyuki Miyata
Rodolfo Marques Diniz vs. Bibiano Fernandes (bantamweight grand-prix semifinal)
Antonio Banuelos vs. Masakazu Imanari (bantamweight grand-prix semifinal)
Hideo Tokoro vs. Yusup Saadulaev (bantamweight grand-prix reserve match)
Karla Benitez vs. Megumi Fujii
Yuta Kubo vs. Nils Widlund (kickboxing match)
Masaaki Noiri vs. Kengo Sonoda (kickboxing match)
Kazuyuki Fujita vs. Peter Aerts (pro-wrestling match)
Atsushi Sawada and Shinichi Suzukawa vs. Kazushi Sakuraba and Katsuyori Shibata (pro-wrestling match)
Josh Barnett vs. Hideki Suzuki (pro-wrestling match)
Jerome Le Banner vs. Tim Sylvia (pro-wrestling match)
