My favorite division at the moment, is lightweight. The division is tough, and so stacked! We have Cerrone, Pettis, Edgar, Maynard, and all those guys at the top, while we have guys who are just now getting exposure; Dos Anjos, and Michael Johnson, just to name a couple. I mostly like this division because of all the exciting fighters. The division has Guillard, Lauzon, Varner, Diaz, and plenty more! :D

What division do you guys prefer in the UFC?

The lightweight division is insane the level of talent is far higher and they always have a full gas tank, it is the best of all the worlds rolled into one. When you look at the skill and talent level of guys who aren't even in the title discussion its crazy.

I like the WW division a lot right now. One of the best champions. Condit has the interim belt. Hendricks, Ellenberer and Kampmann are all pushing for a shot. Still have Fitch and Kos hanging around. Then you have people like Rory and Silva on the way up. Maia just dropped down. Just a fun division right now.

I picked WW. Since GSP has been out a new crop of WWs have emerged and will have their shot at the title. The division is deep with the likes of Erik Silva, Rory, Ellenberger, Alves, Kos, Fitch, Maia, Condit, Diaz (if he comes back), Kampman, Fitch, BJ, Hathaway, Swick.

They've pushed a talented relentless fighter in Diego Sanchez back to LW.

This division is stacked.

I still love the LW division the most :)

And I have a soft spot for the Flyweight division as well, great little tournament they started out with and they've signed a few great fighters (One of them being Jussier da Silva) so it will be very interesting to see how it plays out once the tournament is over :)

I like how each division has it's own feel.

Flyweight is still emerging with legit contenders

Light Heavyweight is full of veteran status fighters, so we can still enjoy their fights while they're still here. The division isn't getting completely washed out with new talent.

This topic intrigues me, because there are so many different ways you can look at each weightclass, and the concepts that they hold.

155 easy.

Bendo
Nathan
Cowboy
Maynard
Pettis

Ridiculous top 5 (not even including Edgar or BJ, who may be better than all of them). Choosing the best is almost a matter of taste, because they are all elite talents.

Then 6-20 is much deeper and more talented than any other division.

I'll go with welterweight. Lightweight is very deep with solid, good fighters but there isn't a single amazing fighter or dominant force like GSP/Anderson/Bones/Aldo/JDS. There's like 5 people who could easily be champs and there's too much uncertainty for my taste. WW has good depth along with better top-end talent.

LW for me, we've been seeing a lot more finishes at this weight making it more exciting, and on top of that, these guys don't get tired.

LHW to me is the weakest division at this point, just last week we were trying to figure out who was going to get a title shot from a group of people Jones had already whomped :/

You know, this poll sort of indirectly answers the question as to whether or not we prefer dominate champions or more competitive top fives. I don't think WW would have so many votes had GSP not been injured, and had instead defended two or three more times.... just an observance.

As far as the poll. I went with MW. I think MW has gotten way to much flack over the years because of my aforementioned topic... Anderson Silva is so good, it makes the rest of the division look bad, when in reality they're not at all... in fact most of their top guys, Belfort, Sonnen, Bisping, etc... can and have competed successfully at 205. But the main reason I like 185 is Anderson Silva. I WILL NEVER take for granted the fact that I get to watch this man's career live! He's that good... and years from now people still following MMA will be discussing the glory days of him dominating... and we get to see it.. LOVE IT!

Screw WW. It is full of wrestlers with average stand up skills.

GSP the champ is the most boring champ in the UFC.

Condit just ran for 5 rounds.

Hendricks, Ellenberger, Kos, Pierce are all good wrestlers with average to below average standing skills. At least Hendricks has serious power I guess.

Alves and Penn are a shell of their former self.

I do like Rory and Silva's potential though. But the division isn't that exciting. Only consistant exciting thing is Diaz and Erick Silva.

Give me LW right now.

I think HW is pretty damn nice right now as well. JDS has Cain and Overeem matchups to go through. All 3 are exciting and different than one another. We have Cormier looking to come over and challenge. We have Werdum getting better and better. We have guys like Struve, Nog, Roy, Barnett, Carwin?, Mir that all have their own styles and all put on interesting fights. HW has never been better.

I've always been more intrigued by the heavier fighters.

Based on pure number of contenders, WW and LW are stacked, but I'm more intrigued with the potential match-ups at HW.

Looking forward to potential match-ups Overeem, JDS, and Cain will have in the future.

Also intrigued with Travis Browne's and Stipe Miocic's potential.

Nelson vs Carwin should be fun too.

As for LHW which also used to really excite me, it's now starting to stagnate. Assuming Jones beats Hendo I don't think Machida should get a rematch. I think Lyoto should be fighting Gustafsson. After that, nothing really is intriguing at that weight class as far as contenders go.
