A long-anticipated fight between lightweight contenders Anthony Pettis (15-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) and Donald Cerrone (19-4 MMA, 6-1 UFC) is nearly set.
Sources close to the promotion told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the fighters are targeted to meet at a UFC event on Jan. 26, possibly UFC on FOX 6.
Pettis hasn't been overly impressive in the UFC thus far. A boring loss to Clay Guida, an unimpressive grinding win over Jeremy Stephens, and now maybe he's on the path of redemption with the impressive KO over Lauzon.
There's still a lot of questions that need answering.
well this is gonna be a great fight, but this will be an impressive showing for pettis, cerrone is the perfect style opponent for him do to what he does best.. i believe showtime will take bendo in a rematch too.. he will have his biggest test against fighters like diaz and edgar..
These two have very similar styles, but Pettis does everything a little better.
