Did you guys hear that joke he made right at the end of the pre-lims???

He said Martin Kampmann comes from behind more than Lance Bass.

Haaaahaha, it was funny as shit no doubt but, on public television? eeeeee.

I guess it's one of those jokes that's funny if you know it and probably not offensive if you don't.

Still. I wonder if he'll get any heat.

And he was making fun of that ref for being fat?

Funny bidness.

I wouldn't consider PPV public television (well at least it was PPV in the states). Though I believe in the UK and other areas the fights are on ESPN, but don't you guys show nudity no problem on public TV? If that's the case, I'm sure his comments do no more harm then a pair of titties :)

Though I can certainly see a more 'public' issue if this happened on the FOX card.

I personally don't think it's a major deal. I don't think Rogan's comments hurt the sport overall anymore then Dana's public rants every other day.

The dude said **** choke on live cable television and no one said anything and that is when the ufc was still fighting a lot of stereotypes and commissions. I think he'll be fine.

Heh i love that, he does go a little to far with the muffled screams when someone gets dropped/rocked..

Joe has always been a great and funny personality to have around during PPVs. I sometimes get ticked at his blatantly biased commentary, but then I remember how big a fan he is of the sport. He roots for people the same way you and I do. It just get annoying when I'm not rooting for the person he is, lol.

I thought the ref joke was out of line, think of the ref telling his family and friends he is going to be reffing the ufc and has them all watch just to have rogan make a joke about him being fat

That was my thoughts before he annoyed the crap out of me by saying let go lets fight every time they clinched for even a second, then i was yelling at the tv for the fat ref to get the **** out of the octagon.

I love rogan, his commentary is part of the ufc experience, when he is not there it feels like a different organization. i did think he went a little over the line this time though

The Lance Bass joke was funny, and it probably offended the 5 gay UFC fans that were watching.

The fat joke was a little over the line, and Rogan always complains about separations. He immediately didn't like the ref for bein fat, and complained about the first separation, which was entirely deserved. They started a clinch at 4:45 of round one, and danced around with nothing of significance until 3:05. The clinch is fine if they are trying for takedowns, or landing some strikes, but nothing was happening at all.

He espeically complains about standups, and I'm assuming that's because he does BJJ and typically shows favouritism for BJJ fighters.

Other than that I thought his commentary was on point. He had me laughing quite a bit last night.

No it's fine.

Crossing the line is the fact that Goldy still has a job, the guy is strange. His commentary, or irrelevant history lessons, is rubbish and he would be lost without Rogan.

Goldy said something about a fighter last night, Rogan continued with 'I like that word you used...etc'. Goldy fell to pieces, looked like he creamed his pants because Rogan agreed with something he said! Congratulations Goldy, how many years practice have you had?

'Why thank you...' he says with a creepy smile, no confidence in his evaluation of the fighter until Rogan approved it. Strange. I know Rogan is a big personality and speaks with a lot of conviction, tends to steal the show, but it's not his fault Goldy is a bitch.

The commentary in general last night was hilarious.

Rogan had to be baked, the Lance Bass comment, the Tristar is a crockpot of talent comment and then there was that gem where he called 170 a "volcano of animals"

hell no it wasn't inappropriate. He is a comedian first and foremost which the UFC was well aware of before they hired him. He will say things to piss people off from time to time but that's expected. To muffle it would be a shame. Not a PC guy at all.
