Awesome fighter, with good movement. Not fighter bashing but there's something effeminate about the way he flicks his hips around, hard to put a finger on. I guess the short shorts don't help.
The gf actually pointed it out and I notice every so often now.
I don't know how people think it will even be close. Shogun had problems standing with Vera and got hurt and ended up trying to take him down for most of the fight until Vera collapsed mentally and tried to fix his mouth piece right in front of shogun. I expect Gus to finish him late second third after shogun gasses. All though it has always been the third fight back that shogun started to look good again so who knows.
MMA fans, so quick to forget. He struggled with Vera in his last fight, yes, but he didn't seem to struggle with out striking one of the most elusive fighters in the division and then knocking him out in the rematch.
Does that not count for any thing any more? It's in the past so just forget it? Is that how this works? Shogun Rua is an inconsistent fighter, so he's never a safe bet. One thing that is safe to bet on though, is that Shogun Rua at his very best is a better fighter than Alexander Gustaffsson at his best.
I predict Shogun to actually show up and whoop this kids ass.
He is very light on his feet I think his size and his body type are what make you think that. He's really tall and thin. Jones moves like that sometimes bit he's not as nimble.
i just watched gus vs hammill yesterday and i think i know what your talking about. it is the way he twists his hips when he changing stances or backing up quickly.

Threads like these are such a testament to Shogun. 31 years old, best years behind him, multiple surgeries, built a career on quick stoppages but past two fights have been lengthy brawls... yet most people are still on the fence for who to bet on when he's facing a 25 year old beast who is bigger, faster and trickier than most guys in the division.
Gustaf is a monster and anyone who downplays the Silva fight is a fool, he tooled Thiago Silva. He will stand with Shogun. Shogun is crafty and always lands something but will not hesitate in taking the fight to the ground. Gun to my head I pick Gustaf, his 'girlish' movement is something that most guys in the division cannot handle, and I guarantee he hits as hard or harder than Hendo... but Shogun is one of the few who will not be fazed by this and has the skills to make it his fight.

All I know is that when Gus moved to Vegas no one would spar with him because he was kicking everyone ass. Forrest said something along the lines that hit him harder than anyone else ever has.
Having said that. Henderson has more power than anyone else in the game right now. No one is taking clean shots and staying up. The only reason shogun survived is because Dan was gassed.
You can't compare Gus power wise to Hendo because he isn't taking big steps and throwing bombs like he is pitching a fastball. Ever see when a bunch of people are trying to see how hard they can punch one of those machines in the bar? That is what Hendo looks like when he is throwing bombs. Apples to apples people.
You are saying we can't compare their power because they don't throw the same style of punches? I thought we were comparing how hard they hit during a fight? If you want to say that Hendo hits harder because he puts more into his punches then that's fine. But it's still saying Hendo throws with more power.
