"I truly got to live my passion and follow my dreams by competing in mixed martial arts, especially under the Zuffa banner, but UFC 154, that's the last fight I'll be in the octagon, as I'm retiring and looking to move on to the next phase of my career."

"As a family, I have young daughter," Hominick said. "I have another daughter on the way, and I think that's the next phase of my life. I need to put focus into that."

"I'm always going to be involved in the sport. This is my passion. This is what fuels me."

I think they (Stout and Hominick) have so much loyalty that they never wanted to disrespect their mentor and trainer by going elsewhere. But even if they did other trainers won't know them well enough the way Tompkins did. In reality it's not that he lacks the skills it's really circumstance in my mind and that's a bummer.

Yagin was winnable along with KZ. He's just in a bad skid. He should take a break and make a reasessment rather than rush in. If not I'm sure he'll make a good coach. Wonder what Sam is planning.

You know how tough this sport is when fighters are retiring prematurely.

I sometimes start to question if there is something wrong with me. Like perhaps I have some sort of prejudice towards light weight classes, or maybe I just don't follow other organizations enough. I am not some fair weather fan who just shows up when the fights are big or my fav fighter is winning. I have been following this sport since the glory days of Pride. I have witnessed the mob and growth that was TUF 1, and all it spawned. I watched a generation of fighters, like Chuck, Tito, and Hughes, fall to their knees. Now I am watching it happen again with Shogun, Rampage, and BJ looking like dinosaurs.

But guys, in all honesty, I couldn't even remember who this guy was when I read the thread title. I really don't care about this guy nor did I ever. I hope he never fights again for his own sake. Clearly he doesn't have what it takes.

Am I the only MMA fan who has been following the sport for a long time that doesn't give a shit about average fighters? I feel like a ghost here sometimes...

Tru but his 'mma' age is showing i think. He has started losing fights he should be winning

Too bad to see him go but its probably the right decision.

I'll always remember the crowd at 129 rallying in the 5th round for him to finish Aldo when he was going for broke. Showed the heart of a champion despite being outclassed. Good luck to him in his future ventures.

I think he will be back in time, seems like that team has taken it hard since the passing of Shawn Tompkins and has really struggled to find there groove. Not sure who took over for Shawn but I think its obvious from the perfomances that he is not hitting the mark with guys like Stout,Horodecki and Hominick who have appeared to lack the edge they need.
