Fun fact. All that bullshit about race being skin deep is just PC bull. African genes are very helpful athletically speaking.

Get everybody to vote for Anderson Silva on here, Twitter, and FB. Wouldn't that be something if he takes out Phelps. This could further legitimize the sport of MMA.

Well you gotta be an athlete to drive one of those cars for the length and heat of those races, and need brass balls. But it is a joke I agree.

The list could only be made by americans as there are 7 guys in there that wouldnt be considered at all by people outside the country

Anderson being on there really doesn't make that much sense, he's not even the best athlete in the UFC. This is really more of a most accomplished in their respected sport list, than best athlete. If it were pure athlete, it would be hands down Bo Jackson.

Jordan/Woods - Jordan
Phelps/Silva - Silva
Ali/Allen - Ali
Jackson/Federer - Jackson
Mays/Robinson - Mays
Pele/Hawk - Pele
Lewis/Gretzky - Lewis
Brown/Earnhardt - Brown

RD 2

Jordan/Silva - Jordan
Ali/Jackson - Ali
Mays/Pele - Mays
Lewis/Brown - Brown

RD 3

Jordan/Ali - Ali
Mays/Brown - Brown

Final - Brown

I think based on athletisim I would likely vote Jordan, Ali, Jackson, Lewis, and Brown over Silva.

IMO Jordan takes that by miles away.
The other guy with in that kind of greatness was maradona and he is not nominated.
Voted for Andy though. :thumb02:

Actually, i have great difficulty in seeing them as athletes,
obviously they are great at what they do, but i don't think of it as being very athletic.

As greatest athlete on that list you have to give it to Bo Jackson, pro baseball, profootball and could have been an Olympian in track and field.

I am surpised though that Herschel Walker never made the list cause that guy was an Olympian, played pro football and took up professional MMA as a retiree.

cool they have an MMA fighter on there but I personally dont feel he deserves I mean really how long do his fights last. 5 10 minuets he is talented but you can't compare a guy who averages less than 2 round mma fight to say a triathlon athlete or swimmer or even boxer like Ali. Hell I would pick GSP as a better athlete than silva at least he goes 5 rounds every time

how does going 5 rounds make you a better athlete? In theory, wouldn't the best MMA athlete have shorter fights simply because he so much more athletic then his opponent?

And it's a shame rhonda rousey isn't on that list! ITS CAUSE SHES A WOMAN!! Gold medalist and world champion!!....... eh.. just kidding.

Kind of hard to pick a greatest athlete of all time due to their sports being of completely different natures.

However with that being said, Ali is a shoe-in for me, huge hero of mine, the guy pretty much invented trash talk and no one has ever backed it up like he did!

Bo Jackson smokes all these scrubs in terms of best pure athlete. Many of these guys are debatably not even the best in their one sport. Tiger being on here for playing a game most retiree's could best a young man at is a travesty. Big surprise from the slanderous and misinforming ESPN. They forgot all the "athletes" from dominoes, bowling, billiards and Texas hold-em too...:confused02:

Bo knows!
