Very good fight and DAMN that finish was brutal. Absolutely lived up to the hype (WOW!! 1st time dana has ever promised us something "big" and it actually was a good as he was saying??).
If Uriah can work on his footwork he will be one hell of a fighter. His fainting/technique is phenomenal.. just needs better footwork so he can create better angles and dodge more strikes.
Yeah, I didn't think the talent pool was low actually, but if the guy I quoted was hypothetically right and Luke was a top guy on the show, then I would consider it low.
For such a tall guy, Luke's reach really isn't that long. It's significantly lower than Hall's I think, and Hall is only 6 foot even.
If Uriah Hall utilized his jab more, I don't see any of these guys having as much success getting on the inside as Cella did. Hall already has pretty good stand up obviously, but his 80 inch needs to be used to it's full potential. "Jab please."
I'm so happy I read this therad two days ago! I was done with TUF for a long time now and reading all the positive reviews made me give it another shot this season, and as a lot of you mentioned it's an amazing season thus far! I haven't skimmed through any of the episodes straight to the fights to avoid the pointless drama all the seasons after TUF 1-5 provided. This season has an amazing cast and the production value is topknotch.
Also Hall's KO was absolutely stunning, and the look of concern on everybodies face when Adam was knocked into another Universe was something to behold.
I have a feeling the finale will be between Hall and Client Hester.
I don't know why but I want to root for Bubba, personality wise I just like him and when he came to Red Deer for a fight in PFC against Kyacey Uscola he had an epic entrance he came out infront of a bunch of ******** in a plaid hat and a one piece full body red underwear with the flap in the back and all. The crowd loved it!
I so badly want Bubba and Josh to lose their fights in such devastating fashion, what a pair of cockjockies! Cella handled himself better than I thought he would though, hung in 4 minutes longer than I thought he would have guessed anyway.
Didn't Dana White say before this season started airing that there was one guy putting everyone in hospital? Take that and add that Hall said he wants to call Josh out after he embarrassed him with the whole "professional cooker" thing at the start of the episode and you may get your wish
I thought far more chilling, was Jones coaching the fighters how to do elbow strikes on the ground. All that stuff about show him his own blood, smash him, the rabid chanting about smashing your opponent's face.
And that kick, great technique, but shame to see that poor bastard sacrificed on the altar of violence. It's like we've gone way back into prehistory, just before someone came up with the idea, "hey wait a minute, what if there was a way that men could compete against each other without causing serious injury to each other".
The thing is, watching someone get knocked out isn't that interesting. It has a morbid YouTube like curiosity. It would be sort of interesting, to see a person get knocked out.
that KO was amazing to watch, but imagine being Hall, that must've freaked him out at the time, he sure as hell looked like he was! He's been struggling with his own emotions so it'll be interesting to see how he acts and fights after that.
Yeah no kidding. I've only choked a few people out in competitions or hard sparring. I felt awful after that I can't imagine putting someone out cold with strikes never mind watching him afterwards.
I've never felt bad, even when it is a close friend....
When it stops them from training it bothers me, i caught someone in a somewhat sloppy armbar that was all crooked...heard some nasty popping sounds but it didn't break, put them out for a good few months. Felt bad every time i saw them.
I think it was clear that he wanted to make a strong stance that he's not the weakest guy in the field therefore he's not going to get stuck with Urijah Hall for the next round. Based on how stacked the next three fights are going to be it makes sense.
The week after next will be Tor/Hester/Samman/Cummings still have their fights to come and two of those guys are also going to have to be the wild cards(KO guys aren't cleared).
very good season and chael is pulling out all the stops to make it the best tuf ever and give his fighters the best chance ever to progress and improve, im starting to doubt if clint hester even gets by anyone on team sonnen due to chaels way better coaching.
As long as Clint doesn't get knocked out he has a one in two chance of fighting for the Wild Card.
I would assume that Hester/Cummings and Andrews/Quinlan aren't the last two fights but you never know.
What I'm really interested in now is this "nervous breakdown" story Dana had with Hall and his next opponent. If Team Sonnen decimates team Jones and only two guys move on you might see something crazy like Barnatt vs Hall in the Quarters. Luke doesn't strike me as a "nervous breakdown" type of guy. Now the issue is could a semi-finalist be the one that breaks down.

In a recent video blog, Dana talks with Barnatt and asks if he's training with Chael. Barnatt says something like he's training with Chael for 3 weeks.
Could mean Barnatt makes it to the finals.
Then again, if two from Team Sonnen are fighting in the finale, Chael probably wouldn't show favortism by training only one of them?
