After that matchup, Edwin Dewees should change his nickname from babyface to Bloody Mary. He was like a water fountain yet still won the fight. Was anybody impressed with Dewees or does he have long ways to go?

That was sick, watching the blood steady stream of his forehead. The closest thing I've seen recently is the Josh Neer-Guillame fight. You could see that babyface was a tough fighter but that shit should have been called on the amount of blood and the fact that ray was covered in it.

Edwin is awesome he never really got to show what he was made of in the octagon. I think he proved to everybody that he's tough as hell. Hope that cut wont effect him in the semi-finals.Much better fight than last week im definatlly watching every week now:thumbsup:

edwinn won all 3 rounds in my eyes

but the fight should have been stopped

if they stopped the sham-ortiz fight cuz of those elbows...they should have stopped this fight cuz of the runnign blood

I never miss Ultimate Fighter! DeWeese showed how tough he is - don't let that baby-face fool ya'! I think he's gonna' go far. As far as the amount of blood, That's what fightin' is about isn't it? Head wounds always bleed excessively. The Doc didn't see fit to stop the fight, so, I was cool with it. Blood always gets the adrenaline flowin' a little harder!! I thought it was lots better than last week. Can't wait till next week!!!!!!!! ;)

why call it vicious?

The only thing ray did was land that vicious elbow thats about it. Better fight than last week
What is sad about that elbow is it wasn't a "vicious" elbow. It had something on it, but not THAT much. That was one of those lucky shots that happen from time to time. Fortunate for Dewees he was able to continue and finish as strong as he did. I bet Ray wished he would have never cut him when all of that blood was pooring onto him!

Do you really think Herb Dean is going to stop another fight after the Ortiz Shammy fight? I guarantee you Herb didn't sleep for a week thinking the Lion's Den crew was going to show up at his house! lol

I was impressed for a guy who looks like he suffers from down syndrome and lost to Chris Leben in a round. But still pretty cool. I thought Gideon Ray was robbed in a way. But I knew Dewees would win because Ray is down right terrible. But still a decent fight for free TV.

why would you do that?

I pray to God that you never have a child or children with down syndrome. You are the type of person that would leave your family to fend for themselves if you had a baby with down syndrome or any other problem rather than love them and treat them like humans. You are weak minded, that is the type of person that makes fun of others. And what makes you feel that you are better than he is? Because he doesn't look like you? You feel free to respond.

Have a great day!

Firstly, he's a kid, so he has a sense of humor and irony, which apparently you are severly lacking. That, and you obviously haven't seen Edwin Dewees.

Then obviously you are in the same boat as he is. I have a wonderful sense of humor, I just don't see ANY humor in making fun of people! It's all in the upbringing!

upbringing: properties acquired during a person's formative years
upbringing: helping someone grow up to be an accepted member of the community

DeWees showed some f'n heart. I thought he took both rounds, but I'm not a judge.

Nice veteran move covering the cut with his hand.....so the ref wouldn't even contimplate a doctor stoppage because of excessive blood loss. I was impressed. Two thumbs up for Edwin.

How can the ref keep stopping the fight due to "too much blood", then wiping off DeWees' face, then letting the fight continue? Each time Ray got the momentum they stopped the fight, let DeWees get cleaned up, then started the fight over. However, Ray didn't try too hard to take it out of the judges hands. When are these guys going to learn that if you leave it up to the judge you are going to lose.

That is the rules. The ref was stopping so that the doctor could check the cut. If the doctor saw that the cut was serious (which I thought it was after seeing a couple quarts drain out) he would have stopped the fight. Ray had very little momentum in that entire fight, unless you consider the fact that he was on his back most of the fight. Now, had he connected with that spinning kick at the first of the last round, that would have been a whole new ball game and probably the end of that fight.

At the bottom of your post it says something in another language which
in english says: It is sweet and appropriate to die for one's country, or: It is sweet and fitting to die for the fatherland.

I can't understand why anybody would feel that it would ever be sweet and appropriate or sweet and fitting to die for their country. Now after getting brainwashed by the military to believe that, yeah I could see it. Just a comment, not poking fun.

I think that if the ref has to stop the fight a second time for the doctor to look at a cut, then the fight should be over. By letting the fighter who is cut get cleaned up, you are taking the advantage that the opponent created away from him.

Another translation might be "It is good and right to die for one's country". Yes, I was in the Army but they did not brainwash me. I was willing to die for my country long before I ever talked to a recruiter. I do understand that their are people, potentially yourself, who have no beliefs and stand for nothing other than being "anti-" what others are for. I hope that my enemies believe as you, it would save a lot of trouble and time.

I agree with you man, if you aren't willing to defend your country with your life you should get the **** up and go to some country not willing to defend itself. Also, i think it's cool you were in the army i'm joining once i'm 18.

Why would you say I have no beliefs and am anti-? "Potentially yourself" was your simple minded way of saying, I, have no beliefs and am "anti'-". I have many beliefs, mostly having to do with the word of God. You, theboz19, should have learned something about God if you were in the military. I do appreciate the men and women in our military, and have told many of them. But you are the type of person who expects people to bow at your feet because you were in the military. You expect people to cater to you because you were in the military. I would also like to mention that I was curtious with what I had to say in my previous post. You and americaisbest decided to be jerks and show your true colors. All you have shown me is that both of you are immature and disrespectful and can't carry on a conversation without showing it.

And so you both know, being in the military doesn't make you a man. Dying for your country doesn't make you a man. Both of you need to grow up.

i'm just glad they didn't stop the fight. i have seen too many fights end because of blood.

i know that in IFL they dont allow elbows for that exact reason, plus they want to keep their fighters alittle bit safer.

personally i love elbows in MMA. but Edwin totally took that guy in the 3rd.

#26 ·
Yeah, eww it was bloody and gross. Edwin's hair was red by the end of the fight. He definitely dominated it though.
And will you guys knock it off with the personal stuff. Shut up! If you want to fight for your country go right ahead. If not, then fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and who are we to say which opinion is right. Grr.

Anyways, WHOO!! Who is going to be the next match up????
