The man is too damn good. Want to stand with him? get systematically wrecked even if you're Rampage Jackson who 99% of people shoot on and he took rampages bombs like they were nothing. His punches and strikes in general are scary he does damage and he lands them well. Want to take him down? not likely he is a former wrestler on the brazilian national olympic team. Not to mention he has really good bjj as well and is great from top position like barnett and knows his way around an arm triangle. oh and i forgot to mention the man's enormous probably cutting from 230 or 240.

....Machida didnt shoot on Rampage....jus' sayin'.

Glover is pretty nasty, I don't think he beats Jones but mother****er is he a violent son of a bitch, that ass whipping he dished out to Fabio was hardcore. I expect him to do the same to the Australian in a couple of weeks.

i agree, glover is tough as hell and was impressed how he went toe to toe with rampage. IMO jackson vs glover was the most exciting fight in january it literally had me on the edge of my seat. but yeah he has good striking, chin, wrestling, bjj hes very well rounded and definitely a threat.

I was actually thinking of posting a War Glover thread the other day. Am getting exciting to see him fight again. If he gets past Te Huna, I hope he gets a big name and #1 contender fight. Maybe vs. Rashad/Hendo winner.

Other than DC comfortably getting to 205, which looks like something he he isn't trying to do right now, I think Tex has the best chance.

Back when people were saying "Sokoudjou is the next big thing" after his wins over Lil Nog and Arona, I was that guy saying "What about Teixeira? He knocked Sokoudjou out in the first round not too long ago." Needless to say, he didn't get much recognition back then. Probably because he had trouble getting into the UFC. I've followed him for a long time and he's one of my favorite fighters today. That being said, I could easily see him getting a title shot in the near future, but him beating Jones is a different story. I will say that I don't think he'd be tentative, and would always be up in Jones' face. That right there would make this a fun fight because Jones doesn't really have quick one punch knock out power, or at least hasn't shown it so far. If I had to pick a winner though, it would have to be Jones. It's hard to pick against him at this point.

I hope to see this fight in the near future, but I don't at the same time because I'm a big fan of both fighters.

Yeah, I got to see him fight in Lemoore a couple of times back in those days, he was every bit the beast back then that he still appears to be today. I am glad to see him finally get to this stage and still be dangerous, though I do not see him beating Jones and I think he is beatable among the top guys at 205. But with Jones out of the equation he does have a decent chance to win the title still so long as it is in the not too distant future.

He might if Jon jones wasnt the champ already.

Glover literally does nothing better. Nothing.

And Jones has a stupidly big physical advantage over every LHW in the world.

I dislike the guy with a passion but he won't be losing his belt any time soon.

I don't think he can do it.

The thing about Jones is he is in the perfect time to be champ, there are very few guys at LHW that aren't past their prime. Look at Jones' past competition and how many of them were legitimate contenders with room to improve still.

Really, the only guys Bones has fought that stood a chance were Evans and Machida. That's not to discredit Jones, he's excellent, but also lucky to be champ right now. Glover's problem is going to be his age and training partners. If he were 10 years younger and training with Anderson every day yeah he'd have a good chance but at 33 you are usually past your physical prime. Gustaffson won't do it because he lacks the proper training partners, I really have no idea who can beat Jones besides Anderson Silva. Such a disparity between the champ and the rest make it really boring to watch the division, someone tell Gustaffson to go live in Brazil.
