Its a shame about Bollinger, skill wise he's one of the best on the show and I fancied a Holdsworth-Bollinger final. Hearing he's signed with WSOF now.
As far as the mens semi's, I wanted Wooten-Holdsworth as the final, their my 2 favourites. In the other one I think Grant should smash through Gutierrez.
As far as the girls, its a bit poor when their records combined come to a combined 11-9. Although she's 1-3 and the smallest woman, I like Rakoczy to beat Pennington. The other semi is a toss up.
Raquel also beat Tonya Evinger to get in the house, Evinger is fairly talented with her last four loses to top five opponents (Sarah McMann, Alexis Davis, and Gina Carano).
Also she was clearly supposed to be the Chris Leben of the cast. Stupid 8 female rule.
Pena has bad striking technique, i don't think anyone can argue that. But i also see a real gift for timing... which is surprising for a novice. She could become a really good come forward aggressive counter puncher if she worked on a few things.
That was hard to watch, all that weight cutting failure. I wish they had twice as many of the female fighters in there and none of the male ones this time around.
I love that they even attempted to cut it together to make ronda look like the good one. They show mesisha handle something oh look how poorly she handled it she doesn't care about her fighters. Then show ronda as the compassionate crying over her fighters coach and she still looks worse.
wow, the men were so shit this year... Bar the two in the final that is, the right two got there and maybe they can carve out a nice career in the UFC.
It always seems like its nearly always the cocky dumbasses who don't make weight, always after being so confident that they don't need to do what everyone else is doing to make it. Like Gabe Ruediger, Anthony Gutierrez was telling us how unlike the other fighters he could eat what he feels like and still make weight.
Meh, one guy fails to make weight it's a problem, two guys it's poor management. It makes me wonder if the guy with the hamstring injury wouldn't have ended up in the finals and winning this year.
Anthony Gutierrez quit way before the day of the weigh in. He made weight to get to the try-out, obviously. And even if he came into the house at 150, surrounded by professional weight cutters, and trainers, and nutritionists, if he had WANTED to make weight, he could have. He was surrounded by how to do it in healthy way. And he made a choice.
I have a feeling that Ronda might get booed more than Miesha on their way to the Octagon. What an immature, full of herself ****. She's going to make weight to somehow make up for her fighter not being able to do it? It's not always about you, you stupid bitch!
Rather than waste 45 minutes on showing us somebody not making weight, why not show us more detail on the diets of those who DO make weight? How much they aim to weigh a week before weigh-in, 48 hours before weigh-in? More training, less soap opera.
I thought it was hilarious after how much Rhonda blamed Meisha when that other knob missed weight. that said dude was scared I don't think he wanted to fight I think he lacked confidence once he actually got in the house
No its not imo. I'll get torn apart for it because if you don't love every single woman fight you're a hater but none of the talent has been impressive. A few decent fights but mainly brawls nothing really technical.
I think you are wrong, I wouldn't be shocked if 8 fighters from this season end up with contracts, and I can see 4 of them sticking around for a while.
I have enjoyed this season though, mostly by ignoring the men. Even though the 2 male finalists could carve out a nice little career in the UFC. The female fights have been great, although the only one with what i could call true skill was Pennington's stand up. Good "technical" agreesive counterpunching you don't often see in womens mma.
Im gonna have to avoid that, im looking forward to this semi final. A true 50-50 match up.
