UFC 168: Ronda Rousey vs Miesha Tate

ATTN: SUPER ADMIN! Big problem! In my excitement I inadvertently plunked down 842,000 on Miesha Tate...roflz! I meant to bet on Ronda!

Anyway to reverse this...haha!

Round 1 – Quick start in the center, and they trade punches. Rousey wastes little time getting inside and drags Tate down, trying to get to the back. Tate pops right back up, and Rousey pushes her to the cage. Tate defends well. Rousey backs away, but on the restart she easily pushes Tate to the floor. Punches from the op. Tate tries to lock in a triangle. Rousey elevates and shakes her off, but Tate with a smooth sweep to the top. Rousey works for the arm from her back. Not there, so she puts the left leg on the shoulder. Tate’s right hand trapped in the hold. Rousey with punches and elbows from her back. Tate’s nose bleeding. Rousey can’t quite get the squeeze on the triangle, so she settles for punches. Tate struggling to pull free. SHe finally does, and Rousey moves to her feet. They trade punches, and Tate snaps her head back. Rousey in a little trouble, but she hip-tosses the action right back to the mat. Tate sweeps to the top before Rousey rolls back and to her feet. Tate moves in on the restart, but Rousey just throws her down yet again. Nothing there, so they move back to the feet. Tate survived the first and shows some moments of offense, but MMAjunkie gives it to Rousey, 10-9. Amazing first round.

Round 2 – Rousey out quick, and they again trade punches. They clinch, and Rousey pushes Tate to the floor. Sharp upkicks from Tate. Rousey has to back away after eating a few. Tate pushes in again, and Rousey with a huge toss to the mat. Powerful slam, but she backs away. Rousey gets inside again and nearly takes the back as she moves the action again to the floor. Tate to her knees and then the feet. Rousey is tight on the body. The action stalls a bit in the clinch, but Rousey is controlling from the outside. She feels the opening and pulls Tate off the fence, tripping her again to the canvas. Rousey in seated side control, but Tate brings her legs over her head and peels her opponent away. Rousey quickly slips out and turns for the armbar. not there, but she settles into mount. Rousey heavy on top, and she punches away before rolling off for the armbar. Tate’s arm is out, but she somehow spins it and keeps it safe. One minute left. Incredible atmosphere. Rousey still on top, but the crowd pulling for Tate. Rousey holding an inverted triangle from the front. She rolls out to the side. She grabs Tate’s body and flips it over. Tate hanging tough, but she’s stuck. Round ends there, and MMajunkie gives it to Rousey, 10-8.

Round 3 – No wasted time as they get back to business. Rousey moves into the clinch and punches to the body. Tate turns in, and Rousey pulls her down, nearly taking the back in the process. Instead, she rolls out and attacks the arm. This time, Tate has no option but to tap. After an incredible war, Tate tries to shake Rousey’s hand. The champ has none of it, and the crowd boos.

Result: Ronda Rousey def. Miesha Tate via submission (armbar) – Round 3, 0:58 to retain UFC
