Ummm, what have you been smoking? It's pretty much undisputed that Bruce Lee is the greatest martial artist of all time. None of the other 3 deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Bruce Lee.
I'm saying bruce lee owns all of them. Tony Jaa besides Bruce Lee is the only legit martial artist on that list. Tony Jaa practices Muay Boran an art so brutal you can barely find anyone who is willing to train you in it

Bruce Lee would win on paper, but it all comes down to the man..

Tony Jaa is basically just a stuntman/gymnastic performer with training in martial arts, he hasnt actually competed in contact tournaments.

Jet Li has 5 Gold Medals in Wushu which is impressive but also a non-contact sport.

Jackie Chan is basically a martial arts gymnast, I enjoy his movies over the rest but he's also not a real fighter. He'd probably be my second choice for winning a fight because of the training and pain he goes through for his movies.

Jackie Chan > Bruce Lee = Jet Li > Tony Jaa

Jackie Chan would be a amazing fighter when he was young if he wanted to. He beat up 8 adult bikers at 12 or younger can't remember the correct age. Jackie Chan isn't a just a stuntman he went to a martial arts school when he was around 8 and went there till he was around 20. (Says it in his biography) Pretty impressive. Bruce Lee wasn't the best martial artist in his time it was just that he was the only one to expose the art to the world. Many people thought that was a disgrace to expose the art to the world and people put a curse on his family that everyone in his family (some believe it would only be the men of the family) would die young. Everybody in Bruce Lee's family who is a man has died before 40 years old. Jet Li would kill BJ Penn and Pulver if Jet Li was in his prime and if he learned BJJ. Jet Li is one of the most powerful fast punchers of his time in his weight class. Not really familar with Tony Jaa, but it looks like he never practiced a Martial Arts as a kid. Jet Li and Bruce Lee are equal, because they are not even the same weight class. People say Bruce Lee is great and could probably beat me in a fight, because they are humbled like they are taught not for the reason they really think that.

I am a big Bruce Lee fan, but greatest ever? What a crock of shit, this discussion happened a while ago in a thread about how he would do in MMA today, seriously, what did he do? Who did he beat? Chuck norris?
What competitions and tournaments has he won?

BTW,I was arguing on Bruces side in the How would he do in MMA thread, but greatest Martial Artist ever, thats goddam ridiculous.
He never really did anything that noteworthy.

I donno who does Kung Fu but Bruce Lee developed Jeet Kune Do. (aka Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do)

Jeet Kune Do is freakin awsome, its pretty much the most unorthidox(sp?) of martial arts and it actually.

So...other then that i have no freakin clue what half of you are talking about. Jackie Chan isn't a very good fighter, he's a good actor/stunt man. Bruce Lee actually was a FIGHTER then went into movies.

MMA Forum Trolls- Please learn your roll in life, it seems its not to be judging "bruse lee" as a martial arts fighter because about 70% of you don't know anything about martial arts other then what Joe Rogan tells your and what you see in movies.

Oh and he never finished his full training of Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do because of his death.

Edit: i forgot about the whole "jet li would kill bj penn"

all i have to say about that is EL OH EL, i mean think about it this way. Who won the early UFC fights with the Kung Fu,Karate, TKD fighters and then the jiu jitsu fighters/wrestlers. Pretty sure it was mostly the Grapplers, so ummm your an idiot.

Plus i garuntee you put any of these fighters in a cage and there gunna get whopped by even BJ Penn just because if they miss 1 kick its gunna be like this. Sweep/Slam, Mount or in a guard, and then get submited or GnP.

You're right, Bruce Lee never did anything. Except create arguably the best martial arts movie ever, make martial arts popular, and support cross training. I'll admit Bruce wasn't the first to cross train but he made it popular and is a big reason people recognize that a true fighter must be proficient in several arts. He is easily the most influential martial artist in recent history, which says a lot.

Sadly LEARN HOW TO INSTALL A SPELL CHECKER!!! You are not 10 years old. Second if Jet Li and if Jackie Chan became a fighter instead of a movie star, Jackie Chan would be hailed as the greatest fighter to ever fight in the UFC if the UFC was around when he was in his prime. Jet Li won't be able to compete in the UFC, because of the rules back then with tournament style. Lets say we fast forward to 2003 BJ Penn prime vs. Jet Li prime and instead of being a movie star became a fighter Jet Li would win. Bruce Lee would beat BJ Penn if both were in their prime. Lastly I'm not really familiar with Tony Jaa so can't speak about him. I'm done stating what I have to state and not going to argue with a meathead like you. Can tell by the way you act you are one.

Yeah, he created the best martial arts movies ever, however this doesn't have as much to do with being a martial artist as it does making movies.
Mat Damon made Escrima popular by using it in 'the Bourne...' movies.
He must be the greatest escrima practitioner ever!

You only took one of my arguments, and you obviously didn't even understand that one. Him making Enter the Dragon is important because it got people interested in martial arts.

How exactly did I not understand it?????
Explain?
Notice the matt damon compaison.

Your only argue that he was really popular, well this doesn't make him a great martial artist, certainly not the greatest.
The cross training thing? Again, a lot of people were doing this, and cross training has been going on since the ancient greeks mixed wresting and boxing.
He supported cross training, again this doesn't really prove that he was the greatest martial artist ever at all.
